Rarotonga one of the beautifull places on earth i think. This backpacker is indeed very cheap but in the end your stay wont feel as good, staying at this place. Specialy if your perseonality / lifestile is more "hippie"/ happy/ not "german" style - lets put it this way roughly. The owner seems nice in the begining , but it...

We really enjoyed our stay at this hostel due to the good location, good price and nice backpackers we met. The hostel was also clean and we did not have any problems with the shower facilities. However, manager Tisa does not really get what it takes to work in the hospitality industry. Ofcourse it is about offering a nice, clean...

Thank you for your review. I am glad you gave your honest opinion that the hostel is clean and satisfactory, you obviously had no problem with the accommodation, but rather that I didn't offer a free ride to a bar, but considering the public bus costs $5NZD per person you all seemed happy to pay $3NZD each, as it was...

I see some mixed reviews about this hostel but in reality, it is fit for purpose as it is, The price, location and room are all great, this is a backpackers of course, so you get what you pay for. This is a fair hostel, perhaps toilets etc could be a little better maintained (cleaning fine, just a little more...

Thank you for your review, especially since the weather wasn't the best while you were here, but we had a great group of people so that at least helps lift the mood. Maybe next time you come and stay with us, we'll have better luck with the weather.

Ok it was cheap but really! stayed 3 days and the floor in the toilet/shower rooms had the same pieces of paper on them on day 3 as day 1, not good enough I say. The fan in room 19 was so noisy sounded like a DC3 taking off you certainly couldn't leave it on when trying to sleep. The...

Firstly, the hostel is cleaned every morning, both bathroom, kitchen, dining area and garden area, even on public holidays, which is when you can your family arrived, Boxing day Sunday, Public holiday Monday and Public holiday Tuesday. All our double beds have mattress protectors as they are the proper Californian King beds, which are quite expensive, which is why we...

If you are in your twenties and used to slovenly dorms, dumpy apartments shared with unkempt room-mates, who refuse to pick up after themselves because Mom always cleaned up after them, unsanitary and ill-equipped kitchens, cold showers, missing toilet paper and noisy, messy neighbors; then you will fit right in. Then once here be ready to be treated like a...

Wow, I'm must say I am surprised, as you were complaining to me about the other guests and how you were telling them they had to wash their dishes. The guests were complaining about you as no one wanted to share the dorm with you, so I ended up having to give you a small dorm on your own for...

DO NOT STAY HERE. GO TO RAROTONGA BACKPACKERS INSTEAD. NOTE: I read the bad reviews before staying here but decided to give it a go anyway. Do not make the same mistake. When I asked to see the room before I paid for five nights in advance, I was told "No". Tisa, the manager, was "tired" and "didn't feel like...

Firstly, when you advised the manager on the way to the hostel that you will be on the island for at least 6weeks as a medical student, she recommended you go into the big dorm as it would be easier for the early mornings as it was away from the common rooms. She also advised it would have been better...

There were lots of rules in this hostel, beyond the usual "clean up after yourself", but I think that so long as you are clearly aware of them, it does not detract from your experience here. The free pick-up was much appreciated. The manager came across as brusque, both over email, and in person, but was informative, and addressed any...

Thank you for your review, yes I am looking at somewhere different for the smoking area. After we finish renovating, we are planning on setting up somewhere in the garden that is partly covered, so that smokers can go there and it's away from the common area rooms. I know that there are few pots and pans during your time,...

My partner and I originally booked 3 nights (the minimum you can stay) and ended up staying there for the rest of our trip (3 weeks). We had an absolute great time at this hostel! The toilets and showers were always clean, the floors always swept and the kitchen was always spotless in the morning. Tisa was always a laugh,...

This place was truly awful! please see pics We stayed here for five nights in July in a double room upstairs. Upon arrival, all guests are asked to check in, once check in is complete, guests are shown the kitchen, bathrooms and their rooms and also shown how to lock and open their rooms, which the owner did with you on arrival and there was no damage to the curtain or missing pillow when he opened your room for you, when...
