Owner and staff were outstanding in assisting us. They were kind and helped us. We were offered a delicious breakfast for $15 each. Our hut was old with the basics yet stuffy and hot and humid. The mosquitos were everywhere Even under the nets over the beds. No screen on the sliding front door kept the door closed to avoid the mosquitos. No fresh air inside. The deck was comfortable outside except for the mosquito invasion. There were no restaurants close by so be sure and buy food to cook in the hut. It is definitely a place for younger families not seniors. A car is necessary. Taxi service is limited on the island to the villages.
Fare Aute was great for our family of 8. We were able to have the house right on the water for the weekend, and there were several kayaks available so we all went out a few times. It was clean and had everything we needed. My only issue was that our bathroom (in our bedroom) didn't have a door on it.
My granddaughter and I just spent 8 nights at this wonderful place, located on the southern part of the island, away from the touristy places. It was so quiet, peaceful and lovely. There were days throughout the week where we had the place to ourselves as we went in the off season. We kayaked and snorkeled in the amazing lagoon. The owner and staff were the most friendly, helpful and wonderful people I have met on my travels. I am actually going to miss them all. By staying there, with locals and away from the touristy areas (if you can really say Moorea is touristy at all as it doesn't feel that way anywhere you go) we felt like we really got to be in Polynesia. We rented a car from the Guest House, which was amazingly easy for one day. When we needed to go to the market and didn't have the car they made it very easy for us to get there and also offered to pick stuff up for us if they were going. They also offered and drove us to the Lagoonarium instead of having to pay for a cab or rent the car again. When we left we felt like we were leaving friends. It is a wonderful small, private, quiet place to relax and melt all of your problems away. I would go back in a heartbeat.…
Dorine and Elodie are the best hosts! They were very welcoming and were very helpful to us! Definitely recommended to stay here!! We had the whole house for ourselves and really loved it; canoeing in the turquoise crystal clear water and chilling on the lounge in your garden is priceless!
We rented several bungalows and were pleasantly surprised. Nice accommodation and quiet surrounding in spite of the vicinity of the local road. Very friendly staff and good location away from the big tourist hotels. You feel at home right away at Fare Aute!
