If you ever visit Alaska this is the place to be when you turn west in Paxson or east in Cantwell. Dear Butch and Carol, thanks for you kindness and hospitality! Bob & Colleen, go for it on one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

I'm astonished that anyone would give Gracious House anything but a five-star rating. No, it's not the Ritz, and every amenity requires some effort on your part, but this is to a large degree the Alaska that was a territory. Even Butch and Carol have upgraded some, and they work hard to make everyone feel welcome and to make everyone...

Gracious House is just that - absolutely gracious, restful, and beautiful. Our room was immaculately clean and nicely decorated. Carol served a fabulous dinner (ordered in advance, served on arrival, and well worth the price) of fried chicken and all the trimmings. Breakfast was wonderful - topped off with a world class cinnamon bun with cream cheese icing. Owners and...

We had traveled from Cantwell on beautful Denali Highway and were ready to rest. We saw that there was a vacancy and stopped in to talk to Carol and Butch. We were not dissapointed! We stayed in a wonderful room that was pure Alaska. Carol and Butch are fabulous hosts. Later at night I opened my door to find a...

This is a completely raw, homegrown, off-the-grid oasis in the middle of a wilderness paradise. The people who made (and still make) this place are exactly the sort of nutty, wonderful, geniuses you'd imagine. Be prepared to rough it a little. When I think of going back to AK, it's Gracious House I think of going too. Unforgettable. Not to...

Thank you so much for your kind review! It means the world to us that we provided you with exactly what we wanted in the great outdoors of Alaska: food and comfort still accompanied with a great Alaskan experience. Hope to see you back one day!

Spent 3 nights at the Gracious House. Butch, Carol and the rest of the folks were great; everyone made a band of motorcycles feel like we were part of the family. The food and drink were killer! The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, the Sluice box (bar) was a hit. I'll be returning as soon as I can.

The Gracious House is a bar that serves excellent pie and coffee. The bar is a trailer that has been gutted and turned into a quaint bar papered with dollars bills. Stops here and eat at the counter and visit with a gracious hostess.

This rustic, Alaskan lodge is a great place for a stop when traveling the Denali Highway. We did not stay overnight, just stopped in for pie and coffee. Staff was friendly and ready to share stories of the area and road. Honk horn to get service. Each worker has several responsibilities, so be patient and ask for help. We had...

If you plan on travailng through Alamea and near the Denali hwy. you need to swing through this place. This is real Alaska run by real Alaskans. If you drive the Denali hwy you must make this a stop. You won't regret staying at this place.

I stayed just one night at the lodge. Butch and Carol were amazing. They made sure I received dinner even though it was very late. I woke up to a wonderful breakfast where I got a nice history lesson about the area. Extremely nice people - rooms were nice, I had my own bath which is rare for most lodges...
