This was my third stay at Casa 69 and I was VERY impressed by some of the changes. The new owner is very friendly and helpful and is giving the hotel a nice face lift! The price remains very reasonable and they still have the same great breakfast. When added to the great location- this has to be one of...

This a very cozy little bed and breakfast, you feel like a guest in someones house rather than a tourist in a hotel. each room it's decorated with very good taste. the staff is very helpful when it comes to arrange tours, give directions or exchange money for you. At night it might get a bit loud due its location,there...

I have been coming to San Jose for a number of years and this was my second stay at Casa 69. Overall it is a nice place to stay, convenient to downtown and a good value. Since I hadn't made plans on where I wanted to go in Costa Rica, I used Casa 69 as a home base since you...

Originally I didn't want to stay here because I read the reviews about the noisy train passing right by the building. After spending 3 freezing nights at a ranch up in the mountains, my dentists driver took me to check out Casa 69. I'm glad I gave them a try. The train did not wake me. Yes I heard it...

The rooms are impressively clean and comfortable for the price, especially considering the location, which is super-convenient if you're staying a day or two in San Jose. We stayed here at the beginning of our trip and at the end, and the entire week between I was looking forward to the freshly squeezed Papaya & Mango juice and fresh baked...

This place was recommended by some hotel owners and rightly so! Donna runs a very charming quaint boutique hotel. I recommend setting up with her to get picked up and/or dropped off at the airport by the staff driver, cheaper than a taxi and great service. From breakfast (included with room) to check out the staff was attentive and we...

We have stayed in many hotels in San Jose as we have been living in Costa Rica for going on 3 years now, which means many trips back and forth from the airport. This is the hotel we have found that we will come back to again and again. The rooms are super clean, breakfasts are excellent from 4-5 dollars...

I have visited Casa 69 several times now and have found it to be an excellent value. Donna, the new owner is very helpful and accommodating. The staff is excellent. Many of the rooms look like a boutique hotel, and are clean and well maintained. The many plants and flowers only add to the warmth of the place. I was...

After a harrowing experience of being robbed in Puerto Viejo/Manzanillo, Costa Rica, we left our vacation early and headed back to San Jose to replace stolen passports at the US Embassy. We stayed two nights at Casa 69, and were so relieved to be in a peaceful place where we felt safe & relaxed. Donna, the owner who is Canadian,...

Wonderful hotel in the middle of San Jose. We arrived later in the evening (7:30pm) for a night before flying out of Costa Rica. We were greeted by the new owner who was less than hospitable. She seemed more concerned with her evening snack and computer than welcoming us to her hotel. When asking for a nice local restaurant for...
