I’m really disappointed! The place is beautiful but the receptionist that works in the night shift doesn’t know anything about customer service AT ALL. The way he answers questions, the way he looked at us is just UGH! Next time I’ll try to go in the morning to avoid having a bad experience again from the begging! Thank you for your compliments in reference to our hotel. When you arrived, you were upset that you had to go to a bank teller to withdraw cash as we do not accept credit cards. Upon your return I had to attend another guest and you had to wait. That was not what you had expected. You booked our most economical room and you were immediately upgraded to one of our best rooms, which rents for $ 48 and you paid $ 33. You received a discount of 30%. We are a very small hotel and we try to please all our guest, but one can not please everybody. Angel Bustamante

This place is SO unique, exquisitely uniquely decorated and maintained, and presents incredible value to travelers. Great, helpful, friendly owner and staff. Lovely breakfast and close to everything! Totally recommend it.

Kurt, Angel and the team (including Violetta the dog 😊) are exceptionally friendly and genuinely want to ensure that their guests have the best possible stay. The location is great - an easy walk from the museums/sights downtown and the local restaurant district and my room was very comfortable and super clean. I also appreciated the black-out curtains as I was a bit jet-lagged when I arrived. Yummy breakfast in a peaceful garden.

I stayed here 10 years ago (see review) but still picked this off the good AirBnB and Trip Advisor reviews from 2020. I actually didn’t remember that this was where we stayed until we walked in. Staff: still wonderfully warm, still very LBGTQ+ friendly. Room: mattress is good on the firm side. Neighborhood: we walked downtown in 8-10 blocks for an early dinner. Now it’s a rundown area rooftop bars, and clubs. We saw lots of college-age locals heading out for the night when we went in. No one paid attention to us, old and gringo and a little fatter than before dinner, and we felt totally safe. We slept with the room open and all night I could hear happy people talking and laughing. I think a bar nearby had live music. Maybe the Irish Pub? Breakfast: still great, simple, fruit so fresh you couldn’t find it in the US, and great coffee, and a good Gallo pinto recipe. Peaceful, artistic, great breakfast, small koi pond and garden add to the tranquil atmosphere. Room was clean bed was comfy. This place is dog friendly, if you have an older pet get on the ground floor stairs are a little steep for them.
