We had a great couple of nights at Casa 69. The location is perfect, staff were friendly and the room was very comfortable. There's also a beautiful view from the rooftop patio and a nice continental breakfast included. I'd highly recommend checking out Oso cafe (next door) while you're there. Their pizza, empanadas, and mango goji lemonade are incredible.

I was recommended this place from a friend in Canada. I'm a solo backpacker, so this was a treat to stay here for a night but totally worth it! The minute I walked in the door, I was early so my room wasn't ready: but I immediately felt at home with great conversation, coffee & fruit. The rooms are huge...

Thank you very much for your review. We enjoy hearing back from our guests and it is especially satisfying when we hear we have made someone happy! A lot of very nice people stay with us and many become repeat customers. We try to maintain a casual atmosphere. It is easy to meet with other guests in our common areas...

For the price you pay, this has to be one of the best B&Bs you could go to. The rooms are decorated like a five star hotel. Breakfast was fruit and bread, with coffee and fruit juice. Additional items were available for purchase, such as pancakes or gallo pinto. We were in the annexe and it was really quiet, although...

We looked for a safe, clean and relaxed place in central San José and this was bullseye. Nicely decorated with helpful staff. Small garden-area. Breakfast was fresh and good. As some have mentioned here earlier, this was an oasis/waterhole almost in the city-centre. Have a beer on the roof terrace and watch the odd commuter train pass by further downhill...

Just as welcome are the helpful, dedicated and conscientious staff who do their utmost to please their guests and to ensure satisfaction and enjoyment. We love the use of color, artwork and greenery in the decor! And cats! Beautiful rooftop views of San Jose! Delicious breakfasts with...

Pros: affordable, good service, friendly staff, breakfast included Cons: -woken up by trains starting early in the morning (~4:30) which is obviously no fault of the hotel owners but was a significant minus. -for some reason our room was left unlocked everytime it was cleaned. Not sure if this is standard or an oversight. Overall the premises seemed secure and...

I stayed here with a friend on the last day of our 2 week trip around Costa Rica. The owner was super nice and accommodating as we arrived several hours before check in. We had a room with a queen and a king bed. The décor was gorgeous. There was hot water in the shower (not a typical thing in...

Stayed at Casa 69 March 17th and 18th. Upon arrival the lady at the front desk was trying to solve a problem talking with the owner Donna on the phone. Donna was talking very loud and barking orders to her employee so I could hear....it turned out it was a problem of entering a hotel guests name backwards and they...

Thank you for your feedback. We always appreciate our guests comments. We are always happy to hear when a guest has enjoyed their stay. In general I cannot disagree with your comment. It is good rule of thumb. I do suspect though, that a person who has just traveled for 12 hours and arrives late at night only to be...

This hotel is a great place to stay for a stop in SJO. You can walk to many restaurants and it has a great coffee bar next door (Oso) and two pubs as well. This is not for people that cannot take noise, when the tram passes you can hear it as if it is passing through your room, I...

Thank you for your review although you have made it clear your stay with us was not up to your standards. I would like to respond to a few of your comments. First, according to my staff, you arrived complaining about the last place you stayed and did not stop complaining until you left. You were put on the top...
