I picked this hostel because of the area, as i was trying to stay near a friends house. I was disappointed from the start, I had the shuttle scheduled and had kept in contact of when I would arrive (I arrived within 5 minutes of said time) and the shuttle was nowhere to be found. I tried calling the hostel 3 times, and send messages with no reply. 20 minutes later they finally got there. At that point I could have taken an uber for a better price. The bathroom was dirty and didn't provide toilet paper and the dorm didn't feel clean either and was way too small with nowhere to set my bag down. The area was nice and near a park and store. The staff was somewhat friendly and made a good breakfast in the morning. I decided to move on after one night as I didn't feel comfortable.

I stayed here for about a week to do some business in a nearby suburb and then go to the airport, the staff were very friendly, helped me to use the oven, gave me directions to the buses and encouraged me (in a nice way) to practice my Spanish :) The hostel is quiet and very good value, I stayed in a dorm - it was only full for one night of the stay but even then not rowdy at all. The area is much nicer than the main city and has all the services you might need - like ATMs, food shops, places to eat and good bus links to the city. It's easily accessbile by bus and then a short walk from San Jose centre. I had some issues getting the shuttle from the bus station so make sure both sides are clear of the meeting point and times before you get there if using public transport. But once you sort that out the driver is very nice and I had a good chat with him on my way to the airport.

Rooms smelled of damp. Bed was on the floor and pillows were lumpy. Shared facilities, bathroom and kitchen, were very tatty and not clean. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We just needed a bed for a night but I will be staying elsewhere on my way back through San Jose.

I stayed here for 2 nights, the staff are super helpful and friendly and offer you a range of services. They will happily recommend good places to eat around the area and cool things to do in Costa Rica. I stayed in a private room which was very comfortable, the hostel had great wifi connection around the whole hostel and the kitchen is of a good standard. The hostel also has a great balcony to eat and chill out on. I would recommend this place!
