This is definitely one of a kind hotel. If you want to experience Costa Rican food, culture and learn about history this is the place. Great price, wonderful service and lots of beautiful art. This hotel is a compilation of 5 houses. It was founded by a family, so you will feel like home. Plus you will be sorrunded by nature (there is a huge garden inside the hotel where you can read, meditate or just relax with the rain). There are some apartments in front of the hotel for a longer stay. Great price as well. The location is perfect. Basically you are in the middle of the city.
The hotel was very nice. There was cute art on the walls and it had a generally nice environment. My room and bathroom were a good size and were both very clean. The only thing is that the walls seemed to be very thin and you could hear a lot. However, that didn't necessarily keep me up once I went to sleep. Lastly, the breakfast was delicious and the dining hall was beautiful!
I love the indoor gardens and artwork. The hosts are really helpful. The rooms are clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet is absolutely wonderful. The 11/47 restaurant is part of the hotel and not to be missed.
This hotel was true to description in Lonely planet - nice rambing corridors with lots of greenery; fairly priced; clean room; friendly and welcoming staff, and great breakfast! Suited us perfectly for our first two nights on arriving in CR
I stayed at Hotel Aranjuez last month. The hotel called a taxi for our departure – the fare meter said 1900, but as I had just arrived, I was still totally bamboozled by the money which has numbers on it in thousands and millions. I had the money in my hand to pay 1,900, but the taxi driver kept indicating he wanted 19,000. That’s what I eventually gave him, and within minutes realized I’d paid about $40 for a 10 minute taxi ride. As soon as I could, I sent an email to Hotel Aranjuez acknowledging that this was totally my error, but that I did expect the hotel would only use honest, reliable taxi companies and drivers. The hotel replied that they would contact the taxi company. It took a few days, but then I got an email from the hotel saying that the taxi driver had come to the hotel and returned the money he had scammed form me. I was very impressed!!!!! IN terms of our stay, the hotel was clean, staff was helpful, breakfast was good. The restaurant next door was fabulous. I had a room right behind the reception which was quite noisy. My friend stayed in the annex ( just around the corner) and that room was very quiet. Hotel Aanjuez provided good value and of course their service was exceptional. …
