This beautiful boutique hotel was our first night's stay in Costa Rica. It didn't look like much from the street with its ordinary urban neighborhood, but inside, we were welcomed with lush garden areas and a lovely room. This hotel is part of a consortium of small boutique hotels dedicated to being luxuriously green. The manager went out of his...

Really enjoyed our anniversary at the hotel. We were greeted with a drink as we checked in and were upgraded to a nicer room. We loved all the little details that were not missed here. We also spent the evening at the restaurant which was beautiful.

I stayed at this hotel with a friend. The place is beautiful--a perfect balance of vintage & modern. Just had nice extra little touches throughout. The front desk staff members were friendly, courteous & helpful. Highly recommend. San Jose is great, but it can also be busy & hectic, so this hotel is the perfect quiet place to unwind at...

Everything about the hotel was excellent. Both breakfast and dinner were superb and the wine list was extensive. The hotel is located just a short walk from either the parks or the city centre. The hotel's outside hot tub provided a nice way to cool down. The staff were very polite and friendly. We would happily stay again as it...

This is a great place. The room was spacious with the colonial feel...good beds and excellent large bath. The hot tubs upstairs were much...

Formerly a grand private residence, this hotel has small but well-furnished bedrooms on corridors between open courtyards, one of which is part of the grand and beautifully furnished restaurant, where we ate the best meal of our stay in Costa Rica. The hotel has a colonial feel with old photos and 19th century artefacts, and made a pleasant change from...

I spent a night in the Grano de Oro as a getaway vacation with my girlfriends and had a fabulous time in this beautiful boutique hotel. The staff was very friendly and efficient and offered us refreshing cool drinks upon arrival. We were early and our room was not ready yet so we left our bags at reception and had...
