Great location if you want to be in the City. Right next to shopping and food district and local attractions. The staff was excellent! Laura was extremely nice and helpful! Breakfast was good as well. You are close to the shops and construction sites, so can be noisy in certain rooms. **Remember it is not advisable to be out in...

Nicely decorated common areas. Excellent breakfast with great coffee. The rooms are fine and clean, but the decor is a bit dull. The roof terrace is under construction. Very central location close to museums and restaurants.

Thank you very much for your review. The rooftop restaurant and terrace is complete. We are just putting the finishing touches on decoration and the menus for the grand opening. Please come back to see it and enjoy the ambiance, the great food, and the spectacular views.

We stayed here at the beginning of a wildlife tour. The traffic to San Jose is horrific but that's normal so live with it. When you get to the Presidente, you will be pleasantly surprised by its easy, informal and welcoming atmosphere and quirky modern touches. My large bedroom had excellent climate control, comfy bed, excellent shower and loads of...

Thank you for your great review. We agree that location is key to your stay at the Presidente. Glad that you enjoyed your stay. As for traffic in San Jose, yes, it can be challenging at times.

Great location in very busy city. Adjacent to pedestrian only area. Staff was extremely helpful. The hotel has a very hip (industrial) vibe. Room was a good size and very clean although showed ware in some places. Really good breakfast.

The Presidente Hotel is in downtown San Jose, only a block and a half from the Museo del Oro and the Opera House and in walking distance from other attractions. The rooms are clean, but modest and prices moderate. I recommend Cafe Chelles on the same block as the hotel.

We stayed here for two single nights - one at either end of an 8 day tour and the experience of our rooms was very different - the first was spacious, two double beds, great view - the second little more than a single room with a double bed squeezed in - view of scaffolding covered in fabric. Thanks goodness...

Thank you for your review. We definitely have a garden, featuring fruit trees, flowers and a grass covered terrace. It is not yet open to the public, and access for now is restricted, so perhaps you visited another area of the hotel? There is a terrace on the 8th floor, and yes, this one does not have a garden.

We live 40 minutes outside of San Jose but in the 4+ years we have lived here in Costa Rica we have never visited the capital city. Our hotel was right downtown which made everything easy to get to. The standard room was fine for us and the included breakfast buffet was very good. If I had to think of...

The kind and helpful staff at Hotel Presidente made stay so nice. The space available in the lobby was so cozy and comfortable for our group to meet together and visit. The decor was fresh and modern. The breakfasts were wonderful! A great hotel!

We stayed at the Hotel Presidente in downtown San Jose, Costa Rica for 2 days before we took a cruise from Puerto Caldera. The hotel is centrally located, walking distance from the museums and shopping. The staff was great and we even had a wonderful dinner in the hotel. The breakfast they include in the room price was excellent. There...
