As a female over 50 I was hesitant to stay in a hostel, bit the Capital is so much more. This is my go to spot for my night in or out of the country. It is so peaceful and quiet. It is impeccably clean. The bathrooms are one of my favs ever, outdoors, and yet not and so beautiful. The thing I can not capture for you is the smell, it is so lovely and fresh. It is air conditioned, has hot water showers and a great shared kitchen space. The staff are so helpful and friendly and un obtrusive. I can not say enough good about this place.

Great hostel located near the National Football Stadium......used pod system which allowed for everything to be located in your own personal space (i.e. outlet, fan, light). The owner was also really accommodating. The only issue was that there didn't seem to be much in the immediate area to do however was located 100m from a bus stop. Value For Money: 4/5 Security: 4/5 Location: 2/5 Facilities: 4/5 Staff: 5/5 Cleanliness: 4/5

This is definitely the cleanest hostel I have ever stayed in, it is very well kept which is appreciated. The beds were comfortable, had privacy curtains, and lights inside your bunk. I really liked that. The showers were large and very clean, so were the bathrooms. I enjoyed that the showers and bathrooms were outdoors, covered but outside. It was a very nice touch. A clean kitchen with many utensils. Cute areas to relax and read or plan your vacation. The staff were extremely kind and friendly, they even arranged Uber rides for me as my app wasn’t working. The only downside is the location, there is not much to do there. Difficult to walk around and see anything. This hostel would be a great hostel if you have a stopover in San Jose.

If I could write a novel based on the best hostel ever, this would be it. It promotes both positivity and community or seclusion and privacy. No bunk beds, pods! Each unit has their own light switches, fan, plug outlets and a curtain for privacy. Bathroom, kitchen, communal space.. all was clean and perfect.. also, best bed I've ever slept on at a hostel.. and the staff.. they're amazing. I spent most of my time speaking with Melissa and she was so great! She took the time to introduce me to the hostel, gave me a rundown on the area and ensured I was happy and comfortable. As for location, I think it's great! Right near a bus stop into town and the area is safe. With less than a $5 uber to get anywhere from Capital, why stay anywhere else? I'm so pleased I stumbled on Capital and will surely be back. Thank you Melissa and the rest of the Capital staff! Pura Vida!…

One of best hostels I've ever stayed in. Super clean, great rooms, comfy beds, showers are great. Breakfast is brilliant, staff lovely, kitchen very well equipped and the common areas are excellent too. I spent a while day just hanging out and chilling in the place it was so nice.
