After reopening in Jan 2021 they have implemented an activities agenda at the AC Lounge which includes Djs, fashion shows, yoga classes amongst others. This hotel remains as a relative new one which is great as you will feel it very clean, fresh and modern -the Suites are quite nice-! Customer service provided by RAQUEL, ROSA, JASSON, GERALD, JOSE, ERLYN, FANNY, DANI, ELIZA & SEILYN during my stay has been OUTSTANDING meaning that if you stay here or visit the Lounge there are very high chances that your experience will be unique and great and will make you want to return or continue extending your stay (as it’s been my case). COVID Safety-wise: Housekeeping team does an outstanding job to keep all sparking clean and follow all guidance as per the protocols require it. During my stay I even got to meet the management who have been very welcoming and approachable - definitely for me that also makes a difference when I decide for a hotel. Lastly, as a loyal customer of Marriott for many years and having been at many hotels around the globe I highly recommend this hotel. …
This hotel is a bit far from San Jose city center. The lobby is actually above ground level and can be confusing to find. There are many restaurants nearby within walking distance and several shops. The hotel is only about 2 years old and is very modern looking. Rooms are spacious, modern and clean. There is a small grocery store in the same building which is nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. Not all the staff speak english but usually someone does so not a problem. Breakfast is good but the offering is not very broad. Would highly recommend if you do not want to stay in San Jose.
Note that as a long time Marriott customer with Platinum status I have both much experience and a favorable bias towards Marriott. We stayed for 3 days on a combined business and family vacation trip. This was our first visit to Costa Rica (and obviously to this hotel!) All I can say is that our service experience was among the best I've ever seen from any hotel, anywhere. My theory is that this hotel represents the best of Marriott customer service combined with the best of Costa Rican friendly culture. Many of the staff we interacted with - particularly front desk, restaurant and bar - made the effort to learn our names and looked out for us personally throughout the stay. As I write this I realize that I should have done the same, so as to recognize them personally! From the moment we checked in until the time we left, they made sure that we were comfortable. Because my wife uses a mobility scooter, we occasionally need extra help which was readily offered. One caution regarding access to the property: the street layout is confusing. The only way to enter the place by car is to approach on CR highway 27 from the west, then carefully navigate through the shopping complex. There is a sign for the road to the hotel but it's quite small and easy to miss. We first approached the building from the east and found that the Google map was inaccurate; it showed access but was barred by a gate which presumably is used only for commercial deliveries. Would suggest that Marriott provide some guidance on the website to warn incoming guests.…
This is brand new hotel. Rooms and bathrooms are clean but that’s it. Very very rude and not at all helpful staff. We asked for recommendation for spa, they sent us to hair saloon and not at all willing to help. We ordered food in restaurant the server forgot to place our food then lied to us about food taking longer and asked us again what we want. The management need to train the staff. Big issue if Marriot can’t serve yo good members. This is a big disappointment.
Booked three nights here as we were looking to stay outside of San José Beautiful location close to restaurants and multi plaza shopping Everything more on the pricy side in the avenida Escazú However room was clean grounds clean Gym was clean Friendly staff Cons Our room didn’t come with breakfast and supposedly was a extra charge $20usd per day No room service which is fine but you are able to go to the bar to get some food No pool not sure why I thought they had one but small open patio off the lounge that you can sit at tables No outside lounging options
