Not only did owner John whip up a batch of amazing "something fruity and delicious" drinks with 5 fruits and 3 kinds of alcohol but he joined us at our table for a nice chat and visit to the pool with a light to see countless Titi monkeys. Always nice to talk with a fellow mid westerner for any interesting... More

I went to Costa Rica in August right before school started and I stayed at the Mono Azul and ABSOLUTELY loved it! The staff was amazing always going out of their way to help or teach me something new about this country. I can honestly say that the owners help to give me the ultimate Costa Rican trip! I loved... The staff was all perfectly nice. The food was decidedly american (PB&j and pasta with red meat sauce are on the menu). The prices were also what you tend to find in America (so not as cheap as some other places) I got fajitas and mine were all stuffed to completely varying amounts making eating them very difficult. The food... More

Paige and John are great hosts. They are working hard to make Mono Azul a good place to stay. The price is reasonable for the area and the owners and chef were very considerate of my vegetarian needs.

My husband and I had the best time at Hotel Mono Azul! The owners, John and Paige, were so friendly and helpful with everything that we needed. Not only did we have great breakfasts and dinners while we were there, but they even suggested other restaurants that we might be interested in. They even helped organize our fun activities like... We just stopped at the cafe for a snack and drinks. We had the chicken nachos and they were decent. The waiter showed us the garden were they grow the peppers, mint, etc. The service was good and place was clean. Doesn't have an ocean view but still cool place.

We checked in on 10 Aug for 2 nights in 2 rooms. We were amazed at the friendliness and helpfulness of both the owner and her staff. We got help deciding where best to eat based on our desires and not on the hotel's menu. Also great tips on the best place to see white-faced monkeys and other wildlife (including... More
