Quepos is a much more affordable base for a day trip to Man Ant, and Passifloras is a decent low-key place to pitch up at. Amiable family feel, central yet quiet backstreet location. Clean enough. Pleasant upstairs balcony to lounge.

The main thing that stood out for me was how helpful the girls were that were working at the hostel. They were happy to spend as much time as you liked to explain every last detail regarding transport, national parks, restaurants etc. The dorm was also very comfortable, bathrooms were clean and there's a big kitchen to prepare food.

I stayed here for two nights and it was great. The rooms are clean, spacious and affordable. The hotel is in a safe and secure location not far from supermarkets and restaurants. The owners are also really friendly and informative.
