Bernal's Airbnb was the first place in Costa Rica where we really began to explore the country. There's a big Kayak Lodge sign pointing to the dirt road that leads to the property. Bernal was gracious enough to scoop us up from the market where the bus dropped us off. We arrived in the late afternoon and jumped on the...

My husband & I and our 2 teenagers just got back from staying at Kayak Lodge for a week. It was FANTASTIC!! I can't say enough about the owners!! The 2 nicest most accommodating people that will ever take care of you. We stayed in the suite which overlooked the Mangrove & it was a HUGE room. Comfortable beds, very...

I stayed at Kayak Lodge for my last night in the Quepos area after leaving my hostel. This is located off of the main road, but it is tucked away down a long dirt road. There is a small grocery store at the end of the dirt road so that you can buy snacks or food for lunch or dinner....

Bernal and Marlene were exceptional hosts. Their lodge is located about 10 minutes outside of Quepos, and I only stayed here one night because I arrived in Quepos/Manuel Antonio area a day earlier than I had planned originally. Once I got there, Bernal let me pick out the room that I liked the most, and then he drove me a...

Friends who stayed here recommended the place and we were not sorry to have taken their advice. 1.5km away from the main road so we had to walk there from where the bus had left us. The owner and his wife are very friendly. Mangrove tour with kayak was guided perfectly by Jorge. Rooms are big and have all facilities,...

We are delighted to see that current reviews describe Kayak Lodge just as we remember from our visit two years ago, Feb 2014. Bernal and Marlene are wonderful hosts! All of the staff we encountered were also very friendly and helpful. Thank you again Yanin and Glenda. Our stay was unusual because most guests are there for one or just...

We stayed here on our way to and from Drake Bay. The hosts were extremely friendly and made us feel right at home. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Located close to a mangrove forest where kayaking was available. We will return if in the area again.

My husband, I and another couple spent two nights at this very unique lodge. Owners Bernard and Marlene make you feel like family from the time you book all the way through your stay. They are ideally located if you're headed to Manuel Antonio or the Osa Peninsula as we were, so we spent one night on the way down...

My husband and I wanted an overnight get away while the kids were at camp. We arrived early in the morning for the mangrove tour with Bernard. What an incredibly delightful person. I don't know if it was his lighthearted laugh or the smooth kayak skimming through the water which completely won us over. We loved the kayak tour. We...
