First of all, everything worked spectacularly well there to the point that I feel the need to finish my review even almost a year after my visit. The place had a very peaceful, laid-back vibe. It's a gem for a technology fan, too, as the owner is very tech-savvy; he designed a system that switched off air-conditioning when the door... More

On our trip to Manuel Antonio, my family stayed at this hotel because we love to kayak. This turned out to be an excellent choice. Manuel Antonio is beautiful, but even in the off season, it can be crowded. This hotel, is about 30 minutes from the park, located in a quiet rural region, at the edge of the mangrove... More

The owners of this place also run it and are the most kind and interesting people we met in Costa Rica. They have a quaint little lodge situated in the Mangrove swamps so if you'd like you can go on a kayak trip (book it in advance as they fill up a week ahead of time) with a guide that... More

My boyfriend, his brother, and I stayed here for a few nights and had a great time overall. The owners were extremely helpful in providing tips about places in the area to visit, where to park (and save money), and great places to eat. Complimentary breakfast was ample and delicious. We also took a kayak tour; our guide was quite... More

We did not spend the night at the lodge but passed by for a tour on the mangroves forest. The owner was very friendly and the places looked very relaxed and clean. The boat trip on the mangroves is very nice and you will see most likely turtles, crocodiles, monkeys and many birds.

Kayak Lodge is sited adjacent to the Mangrove "swamp" of Damas, 5 km north of Quepos. Part of the reason to visit them is to do the Mangrove swamp tour by kayak, and Bernard, the owner, leads a really good tour. Adventure awaits as you see many animals and plants, and learn to slide under low mangrove roots in your... More

This is a great little place to stay! Sweet owners! The rooms are well kept up and really clean. The area is nice and quiet but not too far from lots of activities to do.You also get a discount on their mangrove tour. We loved it!

We had read very positive reviews but still couldn't believe how welcoming the owners were. We were looking for a place that was convenient to quepos and Manuel Antonio and couldn't have asked for more. The mangrove tour is not to be missed. Being with them added a personal touch to our trip that we did not expect.

We booked this lodge at last minute and the price was reasonable. I was expecting a mediocre hotel. But, to my surprise, it was excellent lodge. The room quality was great, the hosts were friendly, service was top quality. I recommend this lodge strongly. If you rent a car, this is the best place at the best price. If you... More

We were so impressed with Bernard and his lovely wife who treated us like family! For the price, this was the nicest place we stayed during our week in Costa Rica. Our lovely hostess showed us around their beautiful garden, explaining each plant and tree. One could plainly see the love they have for their Kayak Lodge surroundings. Bernard was... More
