Extraordinary Lodge, rather rustic and simple but still cosy with an amazing view over the sea. Arrival by boat was already an adventure and fun for us. We found a huge variety of birds and further animals and beautiful lonely beaches around the lodge. The service was very friendly and helpful, the meals were simple but delicious We joined 3...

Punta Marenco Lodge is a two hour walk from the closest town. So you arrive by boat, onto a beach. You will get your feet wet: at both ends. (Or you can walk.) Then you walk uphill for ten minutes. There's electricity only between five and ten p.m. There are no ceiling fans, certainly no air conditioning. So that's the warning...

We had the best time ever in The Punta Marenco Lodge. We couldn't expect a better welcoming ! Passionating moments spent in the true Nature ! It was hard to come back but the memories we brought won't fade ! Thank you again to our guide Oscar, to Ilena the owner and to all the staff making this place an...

The place is located at a very beautiful place. The rooms were decently nice. The view waking up was wonderful but the service was not amazing. Meal times were hardly set in stone and when a time was given, the food was always an hour late. They also dump their trash in a trash pit outside created by them which...

I loved this place. From the 1.5 hour boat ride from Sierpe, to the wet entry landing off the boat to the 300m uphill walk to get to the lodge, this piece of the world is great. If you like birds, monkeys and quiet, you will like Punta Marenco lodge. This is not a luxury hotel. It is a rustic...

I went for 4 days, stayed for 6 and didn't want to leave. I loved every minute of my stay at Marenco lodge. My friend and I had fairly low expectations having read some of the bad reviews on TA, but we were pleasantly surprised. The facilities are basic, no wifi, no hot water and no electricity most of the...

Excellent place to stay if you want to live among nature. A truly memorable experience and a lovely host, the food and lodge was more than I could ask for in the rainforest. The meals were homemade and delicious. Be careful of the monkeys, but as long as you lock up your belongings, they will only make your stay all...

We stayed here for 3 nights, as we booked the full package (includes 'full day' Corcovado trip and Cano Island trip) which was included in our itinerary. The location and sense of adventure was nice enough, but the rest was dissapointing. You have to reach the area by boat, the pickup was decent enough and the lodge itself is a...

We came here because of the recommendations of a bird book. We expected to use the trails in the forrest next to the lodge but those have not been maintained so we were highly disappointed. I can also confirm that these people do not really know how to run a hotel, that it is too expensive for what it is,...

The location of this lodge is idyllic. It is on a hill overlooking the ocean and surrounded by jungle. The rooms are spartan but comfortable enough and some of them have sensational ocean views and also catch the breeze ( important in the humidity of Corcovado). The service, however, is perhaps the worst I have ever had. The dinner service...

“All the main rooms seemed to have fantastic views, just through the top part of the forest canopy onto the option. Each equipped with a balcony and private bathroom. Number 1 and 2 seem to provide the best views. I asked for these and was extremely pleased with no. 1!”

“A place that I visit every year with my groups, great people to deal with, quiet, lots of wildlife, great management and staff. Do not put any attention to bad comments, I had been several times with my student groups and scientific groups and we never had and never will a bad experience. Highly recommend it.”

“Rooms closer to the restaurant have a spectacular ocean-view...and you're likely to have a few monkeys end up hanging out on your porch as well.”
