Secluded in the tropical rain forest bordering Corcovado National Park, Luna Lodge is a unique resort described by many as "...a piece of true paradise". Its appeal is, not only, its natural beauty and environment, where the heliconia hang three feet long, and the howler monkeys wake you in the morning, but also, its ambiance. The owners' passion for the preservation of the forest is ever present, and the attentive courtesy, friendly staff always serve "con mucho gusto... with pleasure".

We first stayed at Luna Lodge 5 years ago. Once I breathed in the rainforest that surrounds the Lodge from the yoga platform, I knew we would be back. We shared this experience with my husband’s mother, sister and our 11-year-old niece. The drive to get to the Lodge is not an

This is my third time, and the location - lush in the green rainforest - and the staff makes it like a dreamy, organic, vibrating home away from home. Start your day with vinyasa at the yoga platform and continue by immersing yourself in wildlife in the adjacent national park.

If there is a heaven then for sure it's Luna Lodge. First stop after a couple of nights in San Jose. We arrived into Puerto Jimenez and had a hot wait for the Colectivo (fun experience in itself). We arrived in Carate and we're met by Edwin the manager, who drove us the final

You’re picked up in the obligatory 4X4 vehicle that can handle the rugged terrain of the next hour and a half journey to Luna Lodge. The ride is a bone rattling experience and shakes away the western expectations of super highways wherever we go. The journey is a white knuckle

I wish I could, Im just a private person, not a tour guide or company. However, we did many mails and reseach on the same matter and can gladly recomend you to contact Osa Birders. Javier is utterly one of the best guides to give you recommendations. Good luck and a great trip//Helena

Hi Jimmy, I strongly recommend an internal flight from san jose to Puerto Jimenez airport, the flight takes about 45 mins and I think we paid about $120 US for a 1 way flight. it's about 5-7 hours by car. luna lodge dropped us off at the airport and built the cost of the transport into the cost of the stay. it's about 90 mins from the town / airport to luna lodge.

When we were there the sea was rough so not very safe for snorkelling , there are calmer seas further up the coast I believe?

Hello, you could drive straight from Monteverde, but that would be a long drive , maybe 7-8 hours. Otherwise you could take a plane from San Jose that leaves you in Puerto Jiménez ( 40 minute flight) and from there take a taxi to Luna Lodge ( one and a half hour drive). Best, Lisette

"Be prepared for a hot climb up steps if you have one of the higher tents, but worth it for the view"
"I had the pleasure of being in tent G, which is at the top of the hill. The best view I think, but also the longest climb."
"Rooms near the lodge centre are easy to get to - those further away have a lot of steps but better views!"
"Lower bungalows and rooms are easy to get to. Bungalows and tents further up the hill require more of a hike but have stunning views."
"If you don't like climbing stairs ask for a lower bungalow."
