Your search is over! El Remanso is truly an untouched paradise! It is nature lovers dream! The resort is right in the middle of a rainforest with stunning views of the forest and Pacific Ocean. The food is incredible and everything is so fresh. I could eat the Duo de Gallos for breakfast everyday for the rest of my life, it was so good! They are super accommodating for your taste and if you have any dietary restrictions. There is an abundance of wildlife right at the resort including all 4 monkeys, koatis, anteaters, frogs, snakes, toucans, scarlet macaws. We originally booked a basic Pontiente room and upgraded to a villa with a plunge pool upon arrival. It is expensive, but the views and wildlife we saw from our deck daily was worth every penny and more. We saw scarlet macaws and toucans several times a day right from our deck and Howler monkeys right behind our room one late afternoon. The plunge pool was so refreshing especially after long hikes in the hot humid weather. They also bring hot coffee to the room every morning. I loved enjoying a cup of coffee soaking in the sounds of the rainforest every morning. The sunsets from our room were spectacular also. The owners Adri and Danny are wonderful. All of the staff (Pamela, Bryan, Elizabeth, Edyn, Guillermo, and Jose) are so friendly and accommodating. The hospitality is next level. We have traveled the world, and have never stayed anywhere that the managers greet you at every meal asking how your day/tour has been. The tours offered by the hotel are incredible. We did the dolphin tour and the long hike and loved both of them. We had Marlon for the long hike and he is super knowledgeable and we had a great day with him spotting an anteater, spider monkeys, howler monkeys, and a fer de lance. While you can’t swim at the beach here because of the rip currents and waves, the beach is absolutely stunning! You can soak in the tide pools during high tide which our kids loved. We felt like we were on a remote island. We hiked to the waterfall from the beach which is beautiful and a wonderful water massage and then spent the afternoon cooling off in the tide pools. You truly feel like you are at one with nature at El Remanso. I promise you won’t regret booking a stay here. We can't wait to return!

My Family of 3 recently returned from El Remanso Luxe Wildlife Lodge nestled within the OSA Peninsula. We chose to fly into Puerto Jimenez from SJO. We were happily met for the seamless road transfer - a few bumps here and there while spotting some sloths and monkeys in the trees. Adri, the Owner met us with open arms along with Pamela who refreshed us with towels and welcome drinks. Hummingbirds were buzzing thru the Gardens and we truly were in the best Casita imaginable — Las Alas! It was tucked close to the Pacific Ocean where we heard waves crashing all day....so soothing. The Beach is a bit of a trek, however most of the Guests chose to go down to see the Rock Formations. The current is rough for swimming, however the daily Tide Pools are not to be missed. The Staff will drive you to a nearby “surfing beach” for a swim. Beds are plush and so was the teak daybed! A wrap-around outdoor deck complete with plunge pool and outdoor rain shower was a delight. We had chaise lounges and high quality umbrella. The Casita was super generous in size and done in a pallet of various woods—beautifully authentic! What a cultural immersion for us. Solar power used with some hydro-electric power and conservation in every way - no plastic!! Yay Delightful accolades to Marlon who guided us on the Property’s Nature Trail. 3 hours were spent with his high tech spotting scope. This Guide has earned many degrees and obviously has spent much time researching - You may think you know about “leaf-cutter ants”, however you will earn your “Master’s Degree” about Jungle Life with Marlon. The Staff shares a family atmosphere with their Guests. Edyn had a huge presence at the Lodge making sure our excursions went as planned. My adult son had a adrenaline blast with the Waterfall Rapelling. You must do the night hike for a thrill. Guillermo’s presence was constant - many kudos to him for visiting table to table at meal time to assure that we were content. Now - let’s talk Wildlife! A Tapir strolled past the Dining Pavilion at twilight one eve. Imagine - people go to Corcovado and HOPE for that! Macaws are readily seen feasting poolside on the Almond tree. All 3 types of monkeys - Howler, Capuchin, Spider easily spotted throughout the day. Adri and Danny, the Owners, have made sure they plant the proper Flora to attract - no other feeding is done - thus, the Wildlife stay put in the Trees and on the Grounds within their natural boundary and donot stroll through the Public areas. My friends at home raved about how close were were able to get to Nature and my photos provide incredible memories. El Remanso has a Bucket List Vacation all figured out for you - just go wild!

We spent a week at El Remanso, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I am a wildlife photographer, and there were plenty of species to photograph. Four species of monkeys, peccary, opossum, red-eyed green tree frog, pit viper, many insects and birds. The guides are excellent. After taking guided day and night hikes to familiarize ourselves with the area, we felt very comfortable exploring the trails and photographing on our own. There is much to see. We stayed in the Mar Azul suite, and the sunsets were breath taking. I photographed humming birds from our deck, and we had toucans dropping seed pods on us from branches above our lodging. The care, thought, and engineering that has gone into making El Remanso carbon neutral and blend in ecologically is amazing. Kudos to the owners for their thoughtfulness.

At the tip of the Osa Peninsula this well preserved forest has accessible trails, including one that goes down to a beach, which we had entirely to ourselves. Examples of some birds that were seen: White Hawk, White-necked Puffbird, Black-hooded Antshrike, Red-capped Manakin, Blue-crowned Manakin, Long-billed Gnatwren, Scarlet Macaws everywhere, 5 species of tanagers, and 3 honeycreepers. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. We could not believe how good the food was, and nowhere have we seen such good service. I have lived in Costa Rica for over 30 years and this is the best place I have stayed in the country. The rest of the family agrees.
