We stayed at Arenas Del Mar for four nights during a 2 week self managed tour of Costa Rica and it was definitely the best place we stayed at. Finding the hotel is a little challenging but once you have parked your car in their lot and you get into the golf cart you will find that all of the staff are so customer and service oriented that all of your needs will be taken care of. We stayed in 703B - a phenomenal room with a curved balcony overlooking the ocean. The room had a bedroom with bath and a living room with an additional bath. The outside deck also has its own hot tub. the mini bar feature a variety of drinks including wine and beer and is restocked daily at no additional charge. We also appreciated the complementry laundry service that they offered. We arranged a tour through Manual Antonio park with the hotel's guide Esteban and he was absolutely wonderful. Seeing the park is a must if you stay here. We also usually had lunch at their second restaurant which is on the beach. Too far to walk but the resort frequently and regularly has golf carts that go between the registration area and the beach so its really effortless. The breakfast and dinners in the main restaurants were average but its super easy to take a taxi to local restaurants usually for $10. one night we went to Raphael's terrazas for dinner and enjoyed their musical entertainment - recommend going there as well. We also went fishing out of Quepos, with Mirse Azul sportsfishing - caught several large groupers and had them grilled for dinner that evening. I'm definitely going back to Arenas.

I visited Arenas with both my parents (in their 70’s) and my newborn child (2month), and it was a great place to take a time for family, outside our house, for the first time in a year. We felt how the staff was concerned not only to provide a superb service, but also to make us feel safe about the Covid-19. The food was good, no need to go to other places, specially because at lunch you can pick your favorite spot at the beach and the service will find you and pamper you.

Disclosure: I made an entire video and took tons of photos solely for the purpose of living a review. But unfortunately, my phone was a causality to the seas lol. My boyfriend took photos on his phone, so hopefully you get the idea. Staff - My boyfriend and I traveled to Costa Rica to celebrate his birthday. From the moment we checked in, we were blown away. The staff was so amazing, extremely helpful and really made us feel special during our stay. No matter who you encountered, everyone knew our names and provided great suggestions/recommendations. While everyone at the hotel was amazing, Rafael & Rodbin really made our trip special. Thank you! Room - I believe we stayed in a BEAUTIFUL ocean breeze suite which was extremely spacious for 2. It came with 2 full sized bathrooms, a kitchenette, living area and large bedroom. The view from our balcony was unreal and you have easy access to the private beach where you could literally walk out to. We'd get daily visits from spider monkeys and be awoken by the beautiful sounds of macaws. Just be prepared for the monkeys, I got a bruise the way I jumped from the sofa the first time they boldly jumped on our patio. Food - The hotel has 2 restaurants, one that provides lunch and another that provides breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was included and was delicious. My boyfriend who is a pretty picky eater had multiple options. We tried dinner & lunch and it was ok. For the most part, we ate at alot of local restaurants which were amazing.

Don’t look any further! Arenas Del Mar is simply magical! Hard to put exactly into words how amazing it is. I truly feel it can only be experienced yourself. The hotel is set in an incredible surrounding with gorgeous ocean and rainforest views. We splurged for an oceanfront room with a hot tub on the balcony and it was worth every penny and more. The view is stunning and the white face capuchins also came to visit our balcony daily which was super cool. There is an abundance of wildlife right at the resort! There are monkeys, sloths, boa constrictors, red eye tree frogs, iguanas. We have two boys ages 5 and 7 and they were in heaven. The guided tours offered through the resort are incredible. We had the pleasure of having Esteban as our guide and he is truly a gem! There are certain people in life you meet who instantly feel like family and he was one of those. He is not only super knowledgeable about the wildlife, but he is also genuinely passionate about it and it radiates through in all he does. On our last night when we ended our tour with him,our whole family talked about how it was a little sad saying goodbye to Esteban. When got back to our room, our 5 year old immediately started drawing a picture that he didn’t want anyone to see until it was finished. It was a picture of Esteban showing us squirrel monkeys through his scope. He sure made an impression! All of the staff were so friendly and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and even spot out wildlife. One night while waiting for a golf cart to pick us up, our driver asked if we wanted to see something special. It was a baby sloth very close to the ground climbing a tree. What a miraculous thing to witness! Don’t hesitate booking a stay here. I promise you won’t regret it.

The moment we arrived at the pickup zone, we were carted away through a rainforest trail up a hill to the property overlooking the ocean. At the top, they greeted us with a delicious fresh fruit mocktail for check-in. We came to soak up nature and be immersed in luxury at the same time...mission accomplished. The thing that's impossible to not mention is the wide-sweeping vistas of one of the most beautiful beaches on earth. Sitting on our private patio with a private spa tub, we had visits from monkeys, agouti, land crabs, iguanas, lizards, and a plethora of interesting birds. Also, their property boasts two fantastic open-air restaurant areas; one for dinner/breakfast and one for lunch along with two pools and a private beach area. The staff was all so very helpful and cheerful which you'll find worthy of the biggest tips you can spare. The only disappointment was that we only heard the macaws and toucans, but never got to see them. The sloths and monkeys were plentiful which made up for it.
