Absolutely amazing. The people working there were friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The pool and view were superb, the breakfast and dinner were great, and make sure you do the reserve tour! We will be back after such an amazing stay. You are surrounded by nature and some of the best hospitality I have ever experienced. Thank you Riccardo, Andres, Jans and every other Gaia member who made our stay so exceptional!
This is one of the best places in Costa Rica. Excellent service, personalized attention and a staff that is always available to help at any time. The restaurant has world class food, with dishes modified to the Costa Rican culture, it is a true culinary experience. The rooms are very spacious and all are very close to the pool, Spa and Restaurant. The Spa service is incredible (recommended, it is a must), additionally you have to do the Lapas Tour. This is a recommended place.
This was by far the best vacation I’ve ever had! Costa Rica was absolutely breathtaking and the service and hotel were top notch! Krishne, our concierge, made our stay flawless. He started communicating with me 24 hours before we even arrived! Asking what we’d like to do when we were there, recommending activities, and setting up reservations for wherever and whatever we wanted to do. I literally had to do nothing except send him a message. It started off rough after we decided to take an Uber from the airport. About 20 minutes away from the hotel, the Uber got a flat (with no spare). It was after 8pm and I messaged Krishne to tell him what was going on. We were slightly panicked, considering we have no idea where we are and have never been to Costa Rica before. He assured me not to worry and sent a shuttle immediately to pick us up! We had dinner reservations for 8:30, and missed them because of the Uber situation, but they still waited for us and served us dinner, even though the kitchen closed at 9pm! The restaurant is beautiful and overlooks the jungle and has wonderful food. Our rooms were perfect! We (me, my sister and her boyfriend) went for her birthday vacation and our rooms were right next to each other, which was so easy and convenient. Very romantic resort, with beautiful infinity pools overlooking the jungle. The Scarlett Macaws would fly by, beautiful, and you might even be greeted by a large reptile, that minds their own business. The resort really does sit nestled in the jungle on a Macaw reserve, so when you arrive, they use gold carts to transport you to your room...which made us feel like VIP! Breakfast was included at the restaurant, and I highly recommend eating there daily. There’s a shuttle that will take you to the beach, but after hours we needed our own transportation. Whenever we wanted to go somewhere after 3pm, Krishne would call and make reservations for us and set up cab transportation (which was $2-10). I literally didn’t have to do anything but send him a message. Because of the new travel guidelines to enter the states, we were required to get covid tests. Well of course, Krishne set up our appointments and had the doctor come to our room! Other people we talked to said they had to wait in line at the clinic or hospital, but we were literally in our bathing suits, hanging out, when the doctor arrived. I highly recommend the Gaia. There were so many things that we still wanted to do and experience and could have easily extended our vacation for another 7 days. We were so sad to leave, and usually I’m ready to go home by the end of a trip!…
The hotel is amazing, the staff is super helpful and kind. They make you feel like royalty. My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon there and they even gave us a room upgrade. The food is wonderful, their restaurant is one of the best in the area. Also, they have a great pool and a macaw reserve, where they teach you about Costa Rican history and the importance of the reserve. We loved it there, can’t wait to go back!
We stayed in the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom villa from Jan 16-23, 2021. Absolutely amazing resort, and we were glad to learn about the scarlet macaw program on site. The villa was perfect, great AC that cools the whole place off within 5 minutes of turning it on, and very hot showers with great water pressure. The owner kindly gifted us the most delicious strawberries we’ve ever tasted with melted chocolate and champagne as a welcome gift our first night. Views are spectacular - watched scarlet macaws fly by from my huge bathroom window! The staff were all beyond excellent - every single person we met was very friendly. The gentlemen remembered our names, asked about our plans for the day, chauffeured us around the property in golf carts, and wore masks the entire time, so we felt very safe at this resort. Cannot even come up with one single con. Chris was great about bringing us towels and drinks at the pool before we could even ask, Ricardo at La Luna restaurant (which is stunningly beautiful with sunset view) remembered us each time and knew I liked my water without ice after I mentioned it once, Gustavo chauffeured us many times in the golf cart and always asked if I got to see the poison dart frogs I wanted to see (finally saw one and it was spectacular to see in the wild at Rainmaker!!), Walter kindly shuttled us around in the van (which is very nice and has AC), and Julio was the best concierge ever and booked us everything we wanted to do (along with giving us his personal cell number to message him any time with anything we needed). Wish we could remember more names, but all the staff were all absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond for us constantly. Luis is a great taxi driver who we were set up with through our concierge Julio - very fair prices and extremely friendly man who taught us some Spanish as we drove around. All the tours Gaia recommended for us were beyond amazing and we loved every single one of them. Laying in the gorgeous infinity pool watching toucans fly by and seeing the monkeys and iguanas was incredible. The resort is stunning with gorgeous flowers everywhere - the scent is constantly in the air and it’s amazing. Surprisingly my allergies didn’t act up at all - perhaps the breezes helped so pollen didn’t settle anywhere, but I breathed great the entire trip. The country is beautiful, the people are so friendly (and thanked us many times for coming to visit and supporting the tourism industry at this difficult time), everyone wore masks and social distanced, all surfaces we encountered the entire trip were sanitized prior, and we had the best vacation ever! Highly recommend…
