The hostel is good, breakfast is local but so filling, staff friendly and welcoming, pool is nice, great forest views and I saw baby monkeys troup near the reception areas.. how special, Quepos is nearby but a walk down the hill, bus can be taken to places
This sprawling treehouse-esque Hostel was a fantastic home base for exploring Manuel Antonio and around. You can walk to the beach, waterfall, coffee, downtown Quepos, etc. I loved the open-air design and the amenities including a large pool, hearty breakfast, clean bathroom, well-stocked kitchen and a fantastic staff to top it off. You will see loads of monkeys on the road to Manuel Antonio and Cascada el Salto is worth a visit if you don’t mind venturing off the beaten path.
We booked a private room with bathroom, room was large but so noisy, hostel is near main road with wagons buses all day long the noise was incessant. The upper bedroom did not have any curtains and only mesh in the windows so nothing to minimise the noise. Breakfast was fine and the staff very nice, pool very dirty, bar pricy. As a hostel it’s good but if you want a private room then stay at a proper hotel for the same price
Hostel Plinio is in a perfect location near Quepos, the National Park and the beach. With an outstanding view of the water from my room! During our stay the staff was very welcoming and very helpful when we needed anything. During our ten day stay there we observed squirrel monkeys, several species of birds and both species of sloths local to Costa Rica; all on the Plinio property! I will definitely come back to this place!!
We absolutely loved our stay at Hostel Plinio. It is lush and green with a clean pool and its rooms hang on a cliff overlooking the distant horizon with ocean. The front desk area is relaxing with hammocks and multiple tables with lounge cushions. We saw 30 to 40 monkeys jumping from tree to tree from this very balcony where breakfast is served every morning Costa Rica style. We saw a Tucan nesting in the tree straight above our room's balcony and two Sloths sleeping in trees near the pool area, plus many brightly colored macaw parrots flying in the sky. This place has everything! The staff does everything to help accommodate your needs and everyone was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with offering advice on the best places to see and things to do while enjoying your stay in Costa Rica. Don't forget to visit the restaurant and bar area for great cocktails and daily food specials where you can meet friendly travelers from all over the globe.…
