We stayed in Mapache, a two-story bungalow right on the edge of the rain forest and just steps from Manuel Antonio National Park. We walked down a garden path to our secluded bungalow, and were delighted to find it had, not only a loft bedroom on the second floor with a separate balcony, but two trees actually in the bungalow...

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We as a company are so happy to see excellent comments on trip advisor and also in the other web pages. This Mapache house is the biggest room in our place and used to be the owner´s house, however sometimes is hard to sell it because is located in the old section...

I chose Hotel Vela Bar for it's location and was delighted to discover it's so much more than that! Hotel Vela Bar is located in the heart of Manuel Antonio. It's about a three minute walk to Manuel Antonio Park entrance and a three minute walk to beautiful Playa Espadilla, restaurants, and shops. If you've ever been there you know...

We stayed for three nights in March, it was so close to the entrance of the National Park. Fresh delicious breakfast, very clean and beautiful sorroundings. The only setback was the upstairs room was very noisy at odd hours of the night, like if they were moving furniture.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Vela Bar the first week of March for a destination wedding. While other friends stayed at houses, we decided to give this small, but renovated hotel a chance. And we are so glad we did. By far, location was a major plus for this hotel. You could be at the national park in...

We stayed four nights in January and absolutely loved It. The room was light, clean and modern. The bread at breakfast was so delicious. I didn't want to leave. My batteries were recharged in the grounds with sunbathing by their pool. Definitely a plus not having children there as it makes a different atmosphere.

We stayed for 4 nights and loved it. Book suite #11. Our room was large and we had a huge patio. The room is next to the forest. Every day Mr. And Mrs. Iguanas came out to check us out on their roof top. Late afternoon one day we had the white face monkey, along with the rare red back...

Just a 3 minute walk to the beach or to the gates of the national park, Hotel Vela ( but no longer a bar) the hotel is perfectly situated. The breakfast poolside is substantial with eggs, meat, breads, coffee, juice, cereals, yoghurt, meat & cheese. Very Euro-feel to the place (I'm guessing the owners are Spaniards)most rooms have small patios...

I chose Vela Bar primarily to be close by the Manuel Antonio Park, and that is the biggest selling point of this hotel, location. The park entrance is only a few minutes away walking and Playa Espadilla is a few minutes the other away. The property is more expensive than others farther from the park and beaches, but in the...

With a perfect location between the national park, a great ice cream bar, a nice cheap bar with affordable drinks and the beach, this hotel is a great place to stay in Manuel Antonio. The only drawback was some upgrading of the swimming pool, which wasn't announced in advance, and therefore was a surprise for us. The staff has been...

We stayed here recently for two nights, since we wanted to be within walking distance to Manuel Antonio park. The room had been recently renovated, with a great bathroom, and private patio near the pool. The breakfast was quite good, in our opinion, especially when compared to others we have had on this trip. There is no onsite restaurant or...
