My wife and I have been to Quepos and Manuel Antonio many times before. We chose Tulemar this time for our anniversary and we hope now this would be the place to go for the many other visits to the zone we will surely have in the future.

The beach was amazing, and the views from

Our vacation to Costa Rica and especially staying at Tulemar is by far the best family vacation we've had. Tulemar strikes the perfect balance between luxury and off the beaten track. We stayed in the Villa Cielto for 2 weeks. It would take way too long to write about everything

Tulemar was such a great place to get away with my Mom. The accommodations were great. With our consiarges, Ashley, help we were able to discover what Costa Rica was all about. Being in a gated community made us feel comfortable and secure. Having a shuttle was very helpful and a

Would love some tips on tipping staff, guides, drivers, etc.
For Tulemar, it is difficult to suggest tipping guides for the house staff without knowing what size accommodation you are staying in and for how long....for instance the response below from Parker-Taylor-Payton is for a 4 bedroom villa, with a pool, for a week's stay - if you are staying in a 1 bedroom bungalow for 2 nights - it is much different and we have all sizes in between - for tour guides - I recommend $5 pp if you enjoyed the tour/service - shuttle drivers in Tulemar - if they carry your bags to/from like a bellman - tip accordingly - if they just drive you - wait until the end of your stay - see how much you used the service - (and if they were safe/courteous) - and then tip - you can actually stop by my front desk inside of Tulemar and I'm happy to help you with specifics for your stay. Does the resort have wi fi or internet access?
Yes, we do! As others have mentioned, we call it jungle wifi. The quality will vary, as the resort is spread out over 33 acres of jungle and hills and beach, but it will work fine in your accommodations. Just don't expect the same quality as in your own home (no streaming 3 movies at the same time on different devices - lol). Tulemar Dave

Do any have air conditioning?
Hi....all of our 1-2 bedroom accommodations have air conditioning.....our larger 3-4-5 bedroom private villas all have air conditioning in the bedrooms and are open air in the social areas.....allowing the cool breezes to flow through.....call, chat or email and we'll help you find the right one for you! My wife and I are looking to go someplace special next year for 20th anniversary with our four kids (Ages 12, 16, 18, and 24). Reading the reviews this looks like the place to go with the various activities to keep everyone entertained and rooms large enough to "crash" in without getting on everyone's nerves. What type villa or Bungalow would be recommended for a family of 6? This does not look like an all inclusive so what is dining prices and service like? Is there something for everyone including those that like plain old hamburgers, hot dogs, mac & cheese, etc..? Looking to go anywhere from late May to early July so what is the weather like? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Hi nealiins5.....besides any other replies you get here (which are usually limited) I would suggest checking out our web site (just click on the link above) to see answers to your questions.....for your group....try one of our 3 or 4 bedroom private villas....complete with its own pool......or you can compare a 2 bedroom unit like Casa del Mar which might fit just fine.....there is a whole page on what you can expect for weather.....and another on dining options inside and outside of the resort.....while you're on our web site....click on the "chat" button and one of reservation agents.....right here in Tulemar.....can answer other questions you may have including other options for accommodations and specific options for kids dining (you'll find most places have burgers, nachos and pizza but you won't find many/any with mac & cheese or hot dogs - but our villas have kitchens and there are grocery stores to find those items)....hope this helps. Do the Tulemar Bungalows have balconys?
I can't remember the name of the one I booked, but we did have a balcony. It was in the canopy and had a view of the Pacific. On the balcony we had to 3 chaise lounge chairs a small table with chairs and a gas grill. The 3 different monkey troops would come through every day and we were just below the family pool area. Contact them and I am sure they can let you know which ones have balconies. If I was to do it again I would make sure we had a balcony. Enjoy.
