If you are looking for a place to stay in Manuel Antonio – look no further. Honestly. The hotel is amazing! Very charming boutique hotel with breathtaking views of the ocean, fantastic wildlife and scenic walking trails for every level of hiker within the hotel’s territory. It’s like having Manuel Antonio National Park in your backyard. The beach has its own charm, too. It’s not a luxurious sandy beach, but I liked it even better (if you are looking for a raw, pure experience connecting with the nature). If you stay in the hotel, I highly recommend booking a tour with Dennis Reyes Arias – he knows the best places where you can see sloths(i saw a mommy sloth with a baby), monkeys and other animals and, overall, extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife in Costa Rica. The staff in the hotel is incredible! From the moment we arrived till the last minute, everyone was extremely friendly and highly accommodating. Also, I would like to say a thousand thanks to Kenneth Blas, a gentleman who works at the front desk. Not only was he always friendly, welcoming and ready to help, but he also helped to fix my son’s glasses. Thanks so much, Kenneth! So bad we didn’t see you the day of our departure. Next time, perhaps? The hotel is beautifully decorated. We stayed at the penthouse – incredible views from both sides, enormous size with 3 floors and very clean rooms. And the restaurant… The food is great! The service is phenomenal. My sons’ favorite part of the morning was breakfast. Not only because the breakfast was served in the hotel restaurant with amazing views of the ocean, but also because of the incredible chief Alex. Alex is the chef who makes the world’s best Minecraft pancakes!!! Yes, he makes animals pancakes, too but my sons are fans of the game and we asked Alex if he could make one of the characters and he did a spectacular job! My kids were ecstatic! But Alex didn’t stop there, he did his own research and the next morning he made different types of Minecraft character pancakes – my kids keep talking about the pancakes and the chef even now! Thank you, Alex! We also would like to say huge thanks to Glen, our waiter who was always attentive, courteous and very accommodating regarding my son’s allergies and Jessica, the manager, who was always welcoming and professional. I highly recommend booking a cooking class with the restaurant’s chef! My kids were super happy making their own empanadas with the help from the chef! Very memorable experience for the whole family. As you can see, I am in love with the hotel. I have stayed in many hotels across the globe of all different categories, Los Altos is one of the winners in terms of the location, personnel, accommodation and overall experience.…
Los Altos resort far exceeded our expectations! Absolutely stunning property, delightful staff, and an amazing experience. We will certainly be back, the staff was so accommodating and helpful and the restaurant was fantastic!
Incredible sights and service at Los Altos. From the private beach, incredible free breakfast, great accommodations, good WiFi, friendly staff. They met our every request. Special thanks to Andres for the great service.
This boutique hotel in the heart of Manuel Antonio is definitely one of a kind. We have traveled around the world and never experienced anything so unique before. The resort’s location is ideally situated a short drive from the National park as well as short walks to restaurants and souvenir shops nearby. The beautiful trees/plants and the absolutely stunning birds that can be seen from the balcony made us feel like we were in the middle of a tropical forest. We spent almost every morning hiking down to the private beach and spending the morning there. The hike back to the resort is a steep uphill climb and so the resort has a shuttle service that you can either schedule a pick up ahead of time or just call them and they will send someone to pick you up. The beach is beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The resort has lounge chairs and tables there as well. We watched birds swoop in to fish and generally played in the water (Swimming maybe for the most experienced swimmers). The pool and hot tub are set such that there are amazing views all around (you get both the Tropical forest and the ocean views). I have to mention that the WiFi is excellent all over the property for those who have to work or take meetings, there was no issue anywhere. The cell phone reception is also 3-4 bars even on the beach. Since it was our son’s b’day we availed of the “private cooking lesson”. The chef was an absolute delight and worked with us ahead of time to set the menu. Everything was delicious and made for some great memories. They surprised our son with Balloons, a cake and a card that morning! They really went above and beyond to make him feel so special on his b’day. The food here is fresh, top notch and filled with flavor. They were very flexible with regards to our vegetarian requests and tailored many dishes on the menu without meat/sea food. They also have a pretty decent selection of vegan/vegetarian options. The breakfast is included and it is a delight every morning with fresh fruit, juices and your choice of local or continental breakfast options. Given the covid environment, they were flexible to deliver it to your room if you preferred. The service was personalized and everyone made us feel welcome and at home. While you are here, I highly recommend eating at Samui Thai just outside the resort (out the resort and to your right). We’ve had Thai food all around the globe and this one ranks in the top 2 spots. I also highly recommend the pizza place a 10 minute walk from the resort (El Wagon Pizza) - their pizza was very very good and their Mint Lemonade was just so refreshing! We also got to eat Greek food from the restaurant “Falafel Bar” - another really good place. Who would’ve thought that in the middle of a tropical forest - you could get excellent Thai, Greek and Pizza? All a short walk from the hotel. There’s an ATM, a grocery store and a pharmacy a block away in case you need it. Highly Recommend!…
Los Altos is our new home away from home. Located right in the center of this increasing tourist destination, this resort has everything you can imagine, and more. The private gate is not needed because the whole city is safe, but the 24 hour guard definitely gives you peace of mind. The staff helped us up to our room where the elevator opens right into the room. Every view from the room was spectacular and breathtaking. We stayed in a treetop suite and the room was immaculate. Clean, private and romantic. The resort sets itself apart with its own private beach. The entire beach section is only for resort guests with all the amenities of the pool, (chairs, drinks, food). Andres was especially helpful in all of our needs. He continued to Impress us as he served us by the beach, by the pool, even at the restaurant for breakfast. This is definitely a 5 star and high class resort and worth every penny. No better place to stay. …
