Right at the start we felt like part of the San Bada family! My girlfriend and I visited Costa Rica for a week on vacation for a nice getaway from our demanding work schedules. Upon walking into the Concierge office, Elizabeth greeted us with a warm smile and welcomed us to their hotel, explained the towel system and housekeeping schedule, and provided us with our room keys. As we walked out of the office toward our room, we passed the spacious pool and waterfall, past the Restaurant and up toward the elevator up to the third floor. We were room 301, a corner room, RIGHT NEXT TO Manuel Antonio National Park! We could not believe the beauty of the tropical rainforest surrounding us. We even were visited by a whole family of monkeys running across our banisters and swinging in the trees right outside of our room!! The room was very cute - neat and clean! There was a excellent quality air conditioner that worked very well and provided a perfect light white noise for sleeping. As Costa Rica is a tropical climate and rather hot and humid, that air conditioner made the room very comfortable and cool the entire visit! The bathroom hosted a waterfall shower head that was so nice and relaxing to rinse after a day at Manuel Antonio Beach. I can't compliment enough about Hotel San Bada staff, it's location and features - walkable to the national park as well as beached, restaurants, the local Tico retail shops with handmade items... Such an amazing experience! The roof top pool, bar, and seating area has a BREATHTAKING view of the Pacific Coast and National Rainforest. Incredible! Bartenders Jefferson and George were so kind and made us laugh and feel nice and relaxed, especially with their specialty drinks in hand :). We received complimentary breakfast each morning - delicious options of eggs, Tico rice, proteins, fresh fruit, veggies, fresh to order omelette or eggs on weekends, yogurt, hash browns! Yummy! Elizabeth at the Concierge desk was one of the highlights of our trip! She was beyond helpful in providing us information on local companies, scheduling tours for us, calling to schedule reservations and taxi services, providing information on the bus schedule, local activities, as well as helping us schedule our COVID test to return to the United States. Not only was she helpful, but she was so pleasant and fun! Every time we walked past the office we came to say hello (and laughed at ourselves for getting swallowed by high tide, covered in sand head to toe - LOL) Thank you to all of the wonderful staff, local Tico's, beautiful beach and rainforest and tour guides to help make our vacation so memorable. We will be back one day!!!!!!…
Hotel San Bada is absolutely gorgeous and literally right next to Miguel Antonio National Park. We basically had the place to ourselves. The price for stay and for food and drinks here were the steepest out of our week long trip to Costa Rica. The room was nice, with a great view. We did pay extra for a room with a jacuzzi and the water NEVER got above room temperature. So that was disappointing. The breakfast was delicious and the Perezoso Sushi Bar was surprisingly delicious. I will say that the main restaurant’s menu was seriously lacking and very Americanized. Over all, I’d recommend staying here.
Gregory was very helpful & well with customer service. He is very respectful and a great host! He was very well mannered and made sure my friends and I enjoyed great sushi with a great view. I hope to see him again soon!
The architecture and style is a little over the top, but this hotel is certainly a good find and value. The location is prime; right by the entrance to the park and a short walk to the beach so you don't have to move your car once parked. Front desk is very helpful. The pools are lovely. Unlimited access to beach towels. Rooms spacious with private balconies. Upgraded bathrooms. The breakfast staff is a little slow but was otherwise fine. Good wifi. There was a wedding one night and some of the guests were not wearing masks in the public areas or on the elevator which was a bit discouraging. On the positive side, the wedding did not disturb the peace.
This is a modern hotel with great location and service. The beds are comfortable and the room was clean (although slightly over furnished). The pool at ground level had a bar with stools in the water! The rooftop bar had great sunset views of the Pacific and no pressure to order food or beverages. The complimentary breakfast was extensive. You can also walk to local restaurants and a pristine beach. Great little gelato spot just outside the hotel.
