I visited this place. The bar i did not stay at the hotel. They padded my tab. Then when I question it the manager went ballistic. They threaten me. Made me empty my wallet of cash. Through my luggage on the curb. Had someone follow me when I left. If you value your life stay away.
I have stayed at many different resorts/hotels in jaco over the years. I am from Florida and vista Costa Rica 3 or 4 times a year. This was the fourth time I have stayed at Bar Oz. The service at the bar is second to none! The food is really good. I highly recommend staying at this location. The Room by the pool has a king bed and view of the ocean. Ac is cold and I always have had hot water. This hotel is walking distance to everything in jaco. Pura Vida! Josh
The wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. We booked the only pool room which was a really nice room, with updated/modern features including a safe, a balcony that overlooks the pool with a couple of chairs, and super clean. It for sure exceeded my expectations, and the wife loved the room too which was a plus. I will note that I never heard the noise to 2am from the pool room as it's on the outside and not above the bar. As for the staff well I agree they all gave special attention to the guests and Argelys who I spoke with over the phone to make the reservation and also greeted me by name when I arrived to the hotel was an amazing host throughout. The location is a few feet from the main street/strip which is super awesome and a short walking distance in the other direction to the beach. Parking I felt secure leaving my vehicle overnight. One quick thing to mentioned is that I don't think the hotel has the pool parties that you see in the photos anymore. Granted I didn't ask but we were there during the high season over the weekend, so if a party was going to happen I think we would of seen it. However because there was no pool parties we got to rest when we wanted too, including a mid afternoon nap. Additionally we found ourselves in the pool by ourselves as if the pool solely for our room (since there is only one available room with a pool view). The pool was maintained by a staff member each morning, so it was very clean during our visit. I would 4-sure stay here again if I was ever to be in Jaco again and recommend it, especially if the pool room is available during your stay.…
I stayed here for a few days on my own and the staff were so kind and friendly I felt like family when I left. Rosie, Argelys and the entire team are absolutely amazing people with genuinely kind hearts and a passion for making people feel welcome. Yes, it is noisy in the room I had which was immediately above the sports bar but that's to be expected.
Hotel is close to the beach and also close to the Main Street. Free breakfast and free parking. Room size is good and provide air conditioning. Only problem is we can’t sleep until 2 am. Downstairs is a bar, very loud at night. For us, we must listen free music until 2 am.
