I chose the Buddha House hostel after reading the write up in the Lonely Planets guide and hat a good choice it was. My longest stay on my cycle tour from Vancouver to Panama has been two nights. This hostel was nice and chilled with good clean facilities and very nice friendly staff so I extended my stay for an...

Let's start with the hostel itself immaculate and very clean rooms. The shared bathroom's are checked through out the day and are always clean. There is a pool to chillout in as well as 2 kitchens if you want to cook. There's a fantastic atmosphere during the day, which changes at sunset when coloured lanterns light up and gives it...

I decided to arrive an evening early for my stay in Jaco, and needed a room for Saturday night. I have to say, I really wish I had known about this place prior to locking myself into an airbnb. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and there are plenty of hammocks and places to relax. I enjoyed the colored lights...

I was blessed to be recommended by a dear friend to stay at this oasis. From the moment you enter the place, the energy is fantastic. The staff are warm and friendly, and they have something for every budget. At night, it lights up with colorful lanterns, and the hostel type feel brings wonderful people around to converse with. They...

We were pleasantly surprised. Location is great. Surprisingly quiet for being on the main street in the middle of everything. Air conditioning worked fine. (You really want A/C in Jaco, and I couldn't find many "budget" options with A/C. Maricela and staff were excellent. Great value for the price. Recommended.

We started and ended our vacation at the Budda House. We felt safe and completely relaxed. Maricela and Manuela welcomed us with open arms making us feel at home immediately. We found the hotel clean and quiet with respectful guests. Maricela provided suggestions for traveling, dining, and navigating our departure from Costa Rica. The hammocks, bean bag chairs, and pool...

I was only planning on staying for two nights and I ended up staying for 8, in no small part due to the incredibly warm and friendly service I received from Maricela. This lady is an absolute gem - make sure you hold onto her! I really enjoyed my stay in room 3, having my own hammock on the balcony...
