Stayed here for three days on a tour of Costa Rica. This was the most remote location (by boat only), and it seemed to be the one closest to nature. The rooms are all lodge style with no windows and a net over the bed. They have an upstairs bar and restaurant which serves in one sitting. No problem as...

Nicuesa Lodge was a wonderful place for our whole family. The rainforest is at your back while the beach is in front of you. The outings are well-planned with excellent, knowledgeable guides. The staff is friendly and genuinely engaged with making sure children and adults are able to experience the wildlife and tropical setting. Highlights included dolphins swimming with our...

If you are looking to truly getaway from the "always connected" world and immerse yourself in nature, Playa Nicuesa is an excellent option - an extra step removed from the already relatively remote places in Costa Rica. A short boat ride (~20-30 mins) across the gorgeous, indescribably blue Golfo Dulce, Playa Nicuesa is set back in the pristine rainforest, surrounded...

You perfectly summed up all that is Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge. Thank you! We enjoyed getting to know you, and are very happy you had such a great time. We'll pass on your comments to Eduardo and Jose. Hope you can visit us again in the future.

We recently spent 4 nights at Playa Nicuesa and absolutely loved it. While the location is truly remote, there is lots to do. Our favorite day tour was the river kayak tour which took us close to several crocodiles. We also saw several dolphins on our way back to the lodge. We also loved the waterfall hike. There is plenty...

Thanks for your great review! We love that our lodge is so remote ... it really gives our guests to "get away from it all" and really have a vacation. And as you found, there is so much to do that you can easily fill 5 days. The river kayak tour through the mangrove forest really is special, and it...

We have just left Playa Nicuesa and my only regret is we didn't stay longer. If you want a completely different experience I cannot recommend this Eco lodge more highly. The food is delicious, and I loved the communal eating, especially in the evenings, and there is so much to do. We went fishing and caught tuna and mackerel, early...

We are thrilled that you had such a wonderful time at Nicuesa Lodge! And we are pleased you took advantage of so many of our activities. The Jaguar House is indeed very special for accommodations, right by the beach. We look forward to your next visit, and hope you can stay longer next time. Happy New Year!

Had spend 4 nights over there, in the middle of the rain forest.. so beautiful, so remote, so calm. A very conscious place about environment also delivering messages about the planet. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and many activities can be organized (don't miss the river/mangrove tour) ; the food is excellent, in real harmony with the country...

Thank you very much for your review and we are so happy you had such an outstanding time with us! We are pleased you enjoyed yourself. Just a note to other travelers reading, the private cabins have folding doors that you can leave open or close as you like, and the windows have screens. There is a door between the...

This is a beautiful eco-lodge on the shore of Golfo Dulce, across from the Oso Peninsula. You get there by a half-hour boat ride--the hotel staff picks you up from Golfito. All the staff are knowledgable and highly attentive. The lodge has beautiful gardens and miles of hiking trails, full of wildlife, including a herd of coatimundis and a trio...

No matter how long you stay you will wish it was longer. The meals are a gift, lodging wonderful, tours and amenities superb. We went very early June, avoided any crowds anywhere and this place in like a small fantasy island! Tour area in the morning to avoid weather. There are many kayaks to take advantage of and the fjord...

We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge, which actually is a private rainforest reserve. You definitely need to come back! This was our third trip to Playa Nicuesa. We keep coming back because we love this place, we love the setting, we love the staff, we love family style meals; it's the simple things.
