Located in Tortuguero National Park - this lovely lodge can be reached only by boat. We arrived in the evening so couldn't really see it's beauty until the morning. There are many casitas with a double bed and a single. We were 2 adults and 2kids so we had 2 rooms across the path from each other. No air, but...

Loved the rustic environment and layout of the lodge. The staff were great! Monkeys were the alarm clocks every morning... at 5AM! This is what we came to Costa Rica for! Don't expect 5 stars... but know that you'll LOVE your time at the Lodge!

First let me say that the last time I was in Tortuguero was 20 years ago and oh so much has changed. It went from one hotel to many and the tours through the park felt more like Disney than a trip in the rainforest. Now for the lodge. The good - it is a beautiful setting, the individual separated...

I loved this lodge in the middle of nowhere! It took some effort to get there, but it was worth it. No A/C but who cares when you've got sloths and toucans in the trees and wake up to howler monkeys?! The staff couldn't do enough to please you and the bartender made great drinks from scratch--no mixes! The food...

Staying in a room in the jungle with no air conditioning and ingress/egress by boat may not appeal to everyone. BUT ... waking up to Howler Monkeys at 5am, taking boat tours through the jungle, and getting that Tarzan-like feeling could not be better anywhere. The lodge is very accommodating. It has a pool and a few areas to walk...

The only way to arrive at Aninga Lodge is by boat; consequently everything starts on a high note as you travel through the Tortuguero jungle in a small-ish, fibreglass open-sided vessel. We saw an anteater and a sloth up a tree, not to mention an array of birdlife, and that's before we'd even arrived at the lodge! The bar, restaurant,...

Exhillerating boat journey to get to Tortuguero 's Lodge for one and a half hours.Absolutely stunning ,scenery and met our lovely guide for the next two days Marco who was lovely. The individual lodges were great, only criticism was that the bathroom had nowhere to put anything but that was a small detail. We were woken early by the howler monkeys and...

We have stayed in Aninga Lodge for two nights and we thought it was wonderful! The hotel is located directly in the National Park of Tortugero. Therefore there is jungle all around. The bungalows/rooms were very clean and I particularly liked that there was no real wall but rather "windows" all around - they were well secured with mosquito nets....

We stayed here for 3 superb nights in January. Pros: Staff were all friendly and helpful. Rooms (individual chalets) are stunning - big, comfortable, simple furnishings, no glass in the windows, only net in the frames and curtains so you hear all of the wonderful wild life outside. Meals are buffet style and fine. Cons: none at all We loved...

Despite it being such a long journey to get there it was so worth it. Everything is arranged for you, food, tours, walks, boat trips. The guides are truly amazing, they spot things you wouldn't have a hope of seeing otherwise. There is so much bird and wildlife here. The lodges are basic but far better than I was led...
