We stayed here for a couple of days and had such a beautiful time with our children. There are way too many things to mention but a special highlight must be the late night visit to the beach to see the turtles come up to lay their eggs. This will become a memory of a lifetime for us all. Well... More

I went with a tour group. Hauling my suitcase down a muddy slope to get to the boat to take you to the lodge, not fun. Hired the guy with a wheelbarrow on the way back to haul the suitcase back up the hill. Fly to the place if possible, avoiding hours of bumpy roads and the noisy boat. I... More

Just had a two day stay here as part of a group tour. Resort grounds were very nice, although as others have stated, the rooms have thin walls and are quite basic. Food served in the restaurant was well presented and tasty; freshly made omelettes and pancakes served at breakfast was a nice touch. Swimming pools were refreshing, although one... More

Really nice place to stay in when visiting Parque Nacional del Tortuguero, Costa Rica. The lodge is totally respectful with nature, so you won't have air conditioning,or super comfortable bedrooms but it's enough for a visitor who wants to enjoy nature. The lodge offers the possibility of buying a ticket to observe one of the most astonishing experiences in Tortuguero:... More

Hotel is simple with small rooms and rocking chairs. It is in the middle of the rain forest between the river and an ocean. Food simple but fresh and delicious. No air conditioner so be prepared. The walls are very thin but overall it is exotic and raw. The bar is right on the river, the ocean nearby, two pools.... More

I stayed here for two nights - booked through Gecko Trails trip to Tortuguero. Pros: -Really neat looking - tucked into the rainforest, and not far (by boat) from the main village. You can also walk to the village (a couple miles), if you want. -Tucked into the rainforest - it's really rustic and feels authentic. There are birds, iguanas,... More

You have to be prepared for the simple, rustic lodgings of Laguna Lodge. Tucked between a pristine black sand beach and a gentle lagoon, it looks as if time has stopped sharply in its tracks. The rooms are basic. No TV or air conditioning. Very dim lighting. However the temperature falls at night so you really don't feel hot. Daytime is... More

Very beautiful, nature oriented lodge! We stayed here for two nights as part of our Costa Rica vacation booked with Eco Terra. It has beautiful garden surrounded by guest rooms. We saw a couple big iguanas, geckos and lots of birds in the garden, also mango tree and lime trees. The room has one queen size bed and two double... More

Talk about a hidden paradise! Stayed here for three days with a tour group and was very impressed by everything. The rooms were cute and cozy - and though there was no A/C, there was a ceiling fan that made the room comfortable enough to sleep in. To really appreciate Laguna Lodge and Tortguero , it helps to focus on where you are and how amazing it is to be able to share this area with the locals.
