There are some very expensive accomodations at Tortuguero. If you don´t want to spend so much money (500 USD per person and day!!!) visit Casa Marbella. Here you will find simple but clean rooms with fans and directly at the laguna. If you like to have some really individual nature experiences, canadian owner Daryl is a really nature expert and...

Visiting such a remote place as Tortuguero, it is good to know you are staying at place run by people you can rely on. Daryl, the owner of Casa Marbella was so helpful, giving advice and answering any questions we had before or during our trip. He even went out of his way to help us with a problem we...

our family room was clean and reasonably spacious,as was the double with river views (although this room was a bit less private),staff were helpful with tour organising, and the breakfast was good quality, with reasonable amount for set meal.the only criticism we had was that no breakfast was available for those taking the early ferry out..(may i suggest selfserve fruit, and a bit...

We stayed here for about 2 nights. We booked our tours through this hotel and really enjoyed the guided tours. I can recommend them. The rooms were clean and the personnel was very friendly and gave us valuable information. The location in Tortuguero village was good, as you were close to everything. The terrace just at the water improved the...

Casa Marbella is much more than a B&B due to its location (its private dock provides an amazing platform to observe the canal and its widlife) and the friendliness of his host. Daryl is indeed an extremely knowledgeable and approachable person who will do everything to assist you, not only during, but also before and after your stay. This place...

The location of Casa Marbella is great; it's a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Tortuguero, and has its own pier at which the boats will drop you. And Darryl is something of a local legend - lots of literature mentions him by name, and his tours have become well-known. He's obviously a busy guy, but if you...

Wonderful stay, nice and clean rooms , well located and owner and his assistants very kind and polite. Not luxury but very clean, comfortable, well located...more than we expected only for 40$ for the room located close to the street. We sleep very well. Daryl, the owner, has a boat with electric engine that allows you to visit Tortuguero park...

We had gone with this as it was recommended in Lonely Planet and it was great. Breakfast by the water each morning was yummy and relaxing. Great value and good location. Lazy afternoons were spent watching the boat traffic on the lagoon. Highly recommend this place.

Stayed here due to all the good reviews and not disappointed. We got the cheaper room next to street which was smaller and intermittently noisy up until about 10 pm but it was still comfortable. Appreciated being able to wander around village and dine where we wanted unlike the lodges where you are limited to their restricted meal times. The...
