Casa Marbella is much more than a B&B due to its location (its private dock provides an amazing platform to observe the canal and its widlife) and the friendliness of his host. Daryl is indeed an extremely knowledgeable and approachable person who will do everything to assist you, not only during, but also before and after your stay. This place... More

The location of Casa Marbella is great; it's a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Tortuguero, and has its own pier at which the boats will drop you. And Darryl is something of a local legend - lots of literature mentions him by name, and his tours have become well-known. He's obviously a busy guy, but if you... More

Wonderful stay, nice and clean rooms , well located and owner and his assistants very kind and polite. Not luxury but very clean, comfortable, well located...more than we expected only for 40$ for the room located close to the street. We sleep very well. Daryl, the owner, has a boat with electric engine that allows you to visit Tortuguero park... More

We had gone with this as it was recommended in Lonely Planet and it was great. Breakfast by the water each morning was yummy and relaxing. Great value and good location. Lazy afternoons were spent watching the boat traffic on the lagoon. Highly recommend this place.

Stayed here due to all the good reviews and not disappointed. We got the cheaper room next to street which was smaller and intermittently noisy up until about 10 pm but it was still comfortable. Appreciated being able to wander around village and dine where we wanted unlike the lodges where you are limited to their restricted meal times. The... More

Just stayed here in March 2011. Great place. Awesome breakfast every morning included in the room rate which is extremely reasonable. Great staff. Nice, clean rooms. A bit noisy on the street side but definitely no complaints. The back porch by the canal made our stay.

There are two options in Tortuguero. You can stay in town at one of the local B&B's or stay in one of the all-inclusive lodges outside of town. We opted to stay intown because we wanted to experience the sites and sounds (and food) of Tortuguero. Casa Marbella enjoyed excellent reviews and turned out to live up to them and... More

Tortugero is a paradise. Daryl is so knowledgeable about the area. Our tour of the canals was amazing. The sunsets were straight from a postcard. The room was very clean and comfortable. This was our first visit to Costa Rica and it met all our expectations and beyond

We spent two nights there recently and we enjoyed it a lot. Daryl Loth, the owner of the place, is a really nice guy. We also joined one of his tours in the park. We were quite impressed by the elctric engine that they are using. The guide was very knowledgeable.
