Our family of 4, 2 adults and 2 teenage girls, stayed at Casa Marbella for 3 nights. It was perfect! Small, quaint, clean, great breakfast and fantastic view of the canal. Also, it is perfectly situated in the village. Across is a grocery, the best...More

My family of 8 stayed 2 nights at Casa Marbella. The hotel is basic, but provided everything we needed to experience Tortuguero. It's location with a dock on the canal provides an easy drop off when arriving from Pavona, as well as hours of enjoyment...More
Beautiful place at the riverside with great and helpful staff, nice and clean rooms and lovely breakfast. I'm travelling alone on somewhat of a budget and it fit my needs perfectly. The turtle and boat tour were both amazing as well!
Daryl was such a great host. He helped book us a turtle tour, canal tour, and a direct shuttle transfer to San Jose. He always kept us informed of what was going on and made sure we were ok. The river-facing room was so clean...More

Late August is a great time to visit if you want to see turtles. The peak of the Green Sea Turtle nesting season is the third week of August. If you come towards the end of the month (or even in early September) you will still have an excellent chance to observe them and there will be fewer tourists in late summer.
We have a variety of rooms (no two are alike) and only two of them face the "road" (there are no cars in Tortuguero). Some face into the property and others face the river. Rooms are very affordable and fairly priced according to their size and the view.
Our most economical rooms start at a very reasonable $35 per night including taxes (single ocupancy). We do not charge for coffee, tea and the full breakfast served between 7:00-10:00 every day.
Most people spend the vast majority of their time wildlife watching in the national park (which is practically next door), exploring the village and the attractions in the surrounding area, or sitting on our large covered deck overlooking the river relaxing, sharing photos with their friends and family using our wireless internet, watching birds or just observing the boats going by.
Our guests tend to spend very little time in their rooms so if you want a clean, comfortable and affordable place to stay as a base for your explorations in the area I would recommend one of the more economical rooms.
I see you have already written to us directly. We will be sending you all kinds of details about our accommodations, how to get to Tortuguero and what activities you might like to try. We have friendly, highly-experienced, licensed guides who would be delighted to show you the natural marvels that make Tortuguero a must-visit destination in any nature-lover's Costa Rica itinerary.
Thanks for considering us for your stay. I am confident that you will be very well looked after and will take away some great memories from this little corner in paradise.
