If you're looking for someplace to stay where it feels like you've landed inside a tropically-themed postcard, my wife and I would suggest you stay at Casa Marbella. Impeccably clean and affordable, it is located right on the water and the main "street" through town. The owner, Daryl, was a wonderful source of information and was able to help us...

we can strongly advise a (minumum 2 nights') stay at Casa Marbella, run by Canadian Daryl Loth, a passionate naturalist. His modest (but very attractive and clean) B&B is situated right in the middle of where real life is happening in Tortuguero : on the banks of the canal by which you arrive in this wonderful village. It has its...

We stayed in Tortuguero only two nights, but it was an unforgettable experience. After poor sleep the two nights before arriving, our first night at Casa Marbella we fell asleep to a thunderstorm, and I felt utterly safe and at home. The next morning we had a wonderful wildlife boat tour with Daryl. Sitting on the deck was blissful--at breakfast...

Our stay at Casa Marbella was definitely a highlight of our trip in Central America. This isn't a review of Tortuguero as a destination (which is amazing for wildlife, we saw the most animals in a 3 hr boat tour than in our whole trip). We were super impressed with the service. Staff is so professional and friendly. The rooms...

Here we were greeted with open hearts surrounded in a breath taking scenery.. weren't expecting it to be this beautiful- naturally stunning! Absolute must to take a national park tour in the morning with the hotel as he is such a knowledgeable tour guide. Emily, Melb Aus. now living in Manuel Antonio Costa Rica.

The Owner is so very helpful, does wonderful river/park tours and can answer any question you throw at him. We stayed in an upstairs room which had a great cross breeze, nice bathroom/shower and the best wifi speed/signal of our recent CR trip.

We stayed at Casa Marbella for 2 nights. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They organized our boat tour, night turtle hike and our shuttle ride. The rooms were clean, breakfast (included) was really good and the best coffee I tasted on our whole trip. Even after I forgot my blue hiking shirt, Darryl was so nice to mail it...

There are some very expensive accomodations at Tortuguero. If you don´t want to spend so much money (500 USD per person and day!!!) visit Casa Marbella. Here you will find simple but clean rooms with fans and directly at the laguna. If you like to have some really individual nature experiences, canadian owner Daryl is a really nature expert and...

Visiting such a remote place as Tortuguero, it is good to know you are staying at place run by people you can rely on. Daryl, the owner of Casa Marbella was so helpful, giving advice and answering any questions we had before or during our trip. He even went out of his way to help us with a problem we...
