We enjoyed our visit to Tortuguero. I don't think we would have enjoyed it as much had we stayed anywhere else. This is a small resort in Tortuguero. It backs up to an undeveloped hiking trail through the rain forest. (Approx 2 mile circuit. Very family friendly trails. ) We woke up to howler monkeys in the morning and iguanas...

I’m really sorry, we are getting so many Trip Advisor reviews for Tortuga Lodge & Gardens, our sister lodge, Monteverde Lodge & Gardens and our parent company Costa Rica Expeditions, that I don’t have the time to write the personalized response that each one deserves. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with others and for helping...

Tortuga lodge is a really special place. By no means cheap but worth every penny without a doubt. The service is exceptional, we were met on the airstrip on arrival by one of the staff members who simply explained to us and the other couple that they were expecting us. Both couples were amused, grateful and impressed, neither had informed...

We started our honeymoon trip there. And.... it was a perfect start. We loved the place and the "eco" approach. The restaurant was very good and the staff (all of them) were exceptional! Friendly, discreet, helpful. They had done some special attentions which was really appreciated. If you go to Tortuguero, that's the place to go!

Great place to go and see some great wildlife. I wouldn't stay more than 3 nights, as this will be enough to do the activities there. There are only a few things you can do, so do them all, enjoy it and then leave. Do note that if you fly in and out, as we did, you may find yourself...

A great location to connect with nature. We loved the iguana that would come and hang out by the pool. Friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. As others have mentioned, the upstairs rooms are more private, because your windows will be open (no ac).

We spent two nights at this wonderful lodge and would have happily stayed longer. Arriving by boat was magical and from the moment we landed every member of staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The restaurant was comfortable and all the food delicious and beautifully presented. Our room was spacious and beautifully equipped with everything we could...

Tortuga lodge attracted our attention the moment we started to plan our trip. It gave us what we were looking for - good service, excellent accommodation and wonderful food in the outdoor restaurant. The staff helpful and efficient. We would recommend it for service, comfort and wildlife spotting opportunities.

This is the third consecutive year that we have stayed at Tortuga Lodge, each time for 14 nights. The average traveller stays for only about 2 or 3! The place just gets better and better and, although we are biased as we believe it’s the best place on the planet, the staff (from chambermaids, gardeners and guides to management) cannot...

We flew from San Jose in a very small plane with excellent views of the terrain below.
