We had a great family vacation at Tortuga lodge. The staff are very friendly and attentive from the moment you arrive until check out. I would highly recommend this place for eco tourists and families. Thanks

Tortuguero is a very, very special place, and the Tortuga Lodge and Gardens is a lovely base from which to explore this area. You can arrive in Tortuguero either by boat or plane (no roads access to this area). From the air strip, you take a (we timed it) 75 second boat ride to the Lodge, which is totally charming....

I have never stayed in a hotel or lodge where the personnel are so caring, so wanting one to have a good stay, so friendly. I cannot say enough positive about our stay there. My daughter and I stayed there in early Feb. This lodge is set in the jungle on a river where nature is right at your doorstep...

Dear dustysand, I loved your review. The image of you in your bed at the lodge at 4:30am laughing at the Howler Monkeys, is priceless. Speaking of priceless, thank you for mentioning our staff! They are a team that thrives on providing what we think of internally as legendary service that will create unforgettable memories. If you were to survey...

This was an unusual but charming restaurant in the Costa Rican Caribbean jungle. It overlooked the river and was set into a small section of the jungle. Beautiful open air restaurant with great food and service. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was nice with a comfortable area around it including hammocks. The rooms were unusual in...

Tortuga Lodge has very helpful staff, good food, forest and "garden" trails full of nature, a variety of bookable tours with good guides and food that is among the best in Costa Rica. Given that Tortuga Lodge is situated in the beautiful Tortuguero area which comprises a river, forest, and the sea (and turtles in season), we were bound to...

Dear Margaret B, It sounds like you were a perfect fit for the lodge. We are designed for lovers of kind and interested interaction with our staff, good food, great naturalist guides, discovery of garden trails and time spent basking in the luxury of watching a three toed sloth go about it's business. Thank you for taking the time to...

When we arrived for our second year in a row, we were greeted by Natalie (front office), Julian (Manager) and Eduardo(Assistant Manager) by first name like members of a family returning for a reunion. Many of the staff, Manuel (restaurant), Edgar (bartender), Angelo (guide), and Noily (World Adventure Facilitator), greeted us the same way when they saw us. It was...

We had an amazing time at the Tortuga Lodge where we stayed two nights. The staff is very nice and helpful. Our room was nice as well. The whole hotel complex was beautiful and if you're lucky you're gonna see some amazing creatures without even taking a tour. Nevertheless we booked a boat trip and it was great! We enjoyed...

Dear jaacb, You're right, Tortuguero National Park is one of the best places in Costa Rica to see wildlife. When you stay at Tortuga Lodge & Gardens and book a tour into the park, you will be with no more than 12 guests, your guide will speak fluent English and will share extensive knowledge of the lowland tropical rain forest...

We first visited this lodge two years ago, on our first visit to Costa Rica. It was our first lodge on our first trip. We were in love. Unfortunately, we had only allowed ourselves two nights here on that trip, which as we sadly boarded the boat to leave, we knew was not enough. Another trip last year, different lodges,...

Beautiful property! But, the best part about this hotel is the friendly staff! From the time we boarded the boat, everyone was so friendly and accommodating! Dear Jessica J, It sounds like you were a perfect fit for the lodge. One of the reasons that we don't have TV's is so that our guests and unplug and concentrate on the environment, the wildlife and take the time to really rest and relax. the food was great, thank goodness since it was so remote it was the only choice. very quaint and clean. All of the staff is inviting. It is situated in the rain forest; if you are lucky enough to be able to make use of the trails (due to the amount of rain) you will see much.
