We stayed at the Tortuga Lodge for two nights; I wish we had had more time there! The location is so beautiful, the touring staff (all the staff really) and the food was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed the expeditions we went on. We will definitely be returning there!

We stayed at Tortuga for 3 nights, but wished our stay could have been longer! The service from the lodge staff was top notch from our arrival at the airstrip to our departure by boat. Natalie was a great guest service rep and we felt very well taken care of in her hands. The tour we took was a boat...

Our family of four spent 3 nights at Tortuga Lodge and absolutely loved it! Our children, aged 8 and 11 years old, enjoyed every minute. We arrived by plane (the "airport" is literally across the water from the lodge) and took the complimentary 2 minute boat ride over to Tortuga. Our first floor room was gorgeous - windows on 3...

Recently returned from Costa Rico and one of the highlights was visiting Tortuguero and staying at the Tortuga Lodge. Wonderful accommodations, excellent service and a fun location. The Lodge provides boat service into town and across the river to the beach - we enjoyed the daily boat rides. The Lodge also offers free walks with a naturalist twice a day...

Dear srfljf, We are delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your stay. It sounds like you really got out there and explored! You're right we do offer daily nature walks in the lodge gardens with one of our local Naturalist Guides. They carry a telescope and binoculars and are excellent spotters and interpreters. Our guests often comment here on...

Dear redbike22london, We are delighted that you found that we were totally worth the splurge, especially since you came all the way from London! Tortuga Lodge sits in a lowland tropical rain forest. We've done the same style of service, food and tours in the Cloud Forests of Monteverde at our sister lodge, Monteverde Lodge & Gardens. Since you enjoyed...

Tortuga Lodge is simple in presentation and style, and to me, in keeping with the serenity and simplicity of this part of Costa Rica. The rooms are cooled by breeze or fan and are comfortable. The service is excellent, and the food was delicious. You can choose the level of activity you want to engage in. We found the wild-life...

Dear Nancy, Thank you for mentioning the presentation and style of the lodge. When we think about this, we think of getting in tune with the Tortuguero River, which runs in front of the lodge. The service style is personalized, informal, caring. No background music. Our food is what a Costa Rican grandmother would cook if she was also a...

Staying at The lodge was an experience i wont forget. The staff were professional, courteous and accommodating. Everything we needed for a quiet getaway was There. Tours are available thru the lodge. They are small so you will get a more personalized experience. If you want to go into town you can take their shuttle boat or call a Boat...

We enjoyed three nights and there wasn't a single detail we were not fully happy with. Arrives was quick by landing on the nearby airfield. The room was clean and sufficient for us. Food was better than expected, this holds for breakfast, lunch and especially dinner. The best part were the tours that allowed us to learn about the ecosystem....

Dear MarcusMUC83, Thank you for mentioning the size of our tour groups. You're right, our groups are small, we guarantee that there will be no more than 12 guests. We can do this because we are a small lodge, only 27 rooms. The other lodges are much larger and the often have groups of 24+ people on their tours. We...
