We were supposed to stay at the Miss Miriams on the left of the football field, however, after spending 10 minutes in the room, we fled the hotel. We had a tiny room upstairs with holes in the wall and crazy colorful wall decorations, clearly this place needs thorough renovations. The bathroom was also tiny and very very basic, also... More

We stayed at Miss Miriams for two nights in June 2015. The room was very basic, small and a little run down (e.g. the door to the bathroom would not close). Location is good (close to the beach and the village center and in the evening you can watch the locals play football which is quite fun :-))) ) The... More

I came back late from the turtle tour to find my room overrun by enormous cockroaches. No one was around to help so I slept on the chair outside of the room. I told the owner and checked out a day early, but he wouldn't compensate the second night and I wound up paying for the room I didn't stay... More

Cabinas Miriam are a nice, budget place to stay in Tortuguero. Their location is very quiet, just few steps from the beach and within 5 min walk to the center. The rooms are rather basic with quite tired bathroom (there was no hot water during our stay), the cleanlines was just to say not perfect but the owner was really... More

We (couple, 41 & 50) stayed at Miss Miriam's 2 for two nights in February 2014. We paid $30 a night for a room with a private bathroom and fan. The room was large with three beds (1 double + 2 singles). It was very basic - no closet, shelves or chair. The bathroom was large but rustic. The shower... More

We ended up here by mistake, but found ourselves very satisfied: clean rooms and simple honest hospitality. Quiet at night and afternoon fun with funny footbal matches, both male and female. But the best, is to be found in the restaurant comment

This is a review for Miss Miriam 1 hotel. This is one of a few listed on Lonely Planet shoestring book. I must admit we have stopped going for those LP's recommendation ssimply because they are too basic for our liking. The room was damp and dirty. Rat poo (a lot) were on the inner side if the bed. No... More
