Miss Junie's was wonderful, restful, beautiful and truly on Island Time, No window screens, but no bugs when we were there. Some folks walked to the hardware store in Tortuguerro and bought 2 pieces of screen wire and slid them in the windows. No air conditioning, we were in the middle of the 2 story on the ocean side in July. There...

We stayed 2 nights at Miss Junie´s. The hotel is in the village of Tortuguero, very good located at one end with the shops very close to it. There is a big garden with very nice trees, plants and flowers and small and big quiet iguanas and birds living there. Through a direct access in the garden you can reach...

I have been to Tortuguero twice this year, in January and June. For our trip in June I decided to stay in Miss Junies. I had been in contact with the hotel before and already by e-mail the staff seemed very friendly, they answered all my questions very fast and I was sure that I would enjoy the stay in...

Atmosphere The atmosphere is peaceful, the restaurant is facing the canals of Tortuguero. The tables are spacious and not to close to each other so you don´t get the feeling the place is crowded. Food The food is a bit disappointing, my dish was good quantity and nicely presented although my meat was not fresh. It tasted like it had...

The staff was friendly and helpfull. A real family feeling. The rooms in a beautiful wood. The best rice and beans in all of Costa Rica. I recomend the canoe tour through the national forest! There is some great history here as well. Beautiful sunsets!

We stayed at the hotel for four nights. The location is fantastic, having large gardens and great views. On one side of the garden you can lie in a hammock by the cannal and on the other side you walk two minutes onto the Caribbean beach. The national park was also within short walking distance. Rooms were clean and comfortable...

Very, very nice afro-carribbean family ran the hotel/restaurant. They were so helpful in organising 3 trips for us. The rooms were impeccably clean and the staff friendly. Eat at the restaurant twice for evening meals, and both times we had excellent food. Brilliant waiter called Carlos helped us throughout our stay! Only reason I havent given it full marks is...

We stayed in this lovely hotel in the beginning of march for one day and we had a little disappointment that we did so much thing in Tortuguero so we didn't had the time to stay in our room and enjoy the lovely room and setting. Wood is everywhere in rooms and the hotel, so if you like the style,...

We stayed here for 1 night as we arrived into town late. The cheapest room they quoted was $50 though I now know that other paid $40 for the exact same room! The guy serving us on arrival was rude and whilst I was trying to make my reservation a group of 4 old french tourists wandered through the gate...
