What can you say about a place where you wake up in the morning to find two sloths in your front yard tree? What an amazing experience! Located in the jungle across the street from the Caribbean, you have the best of both worlds. The owners Nadia and Antonio are so kind and hospitable. They felt like family by the time we left.

Our lovely hosts Nadia and Antonio were very helpful and friendly. They told us the good places to go and when to see the different tourist sites and had great restaurant recommendations as well. Their small villas are set in an incredible natural setting and it seemed as though we were living in the jungle surrounded by toucans, parakeets, iguanas, etc. The place was quite, clean and well appointed with cooking facilities and 2 bedrooms, it even came with a friendly resident cat. Great place to stay and enjoy the nearby beaches and the local caribe flavor.

We stayed in one of the villas and had a great experience. The location is about a mile or so from town and we rented bikes from the nearby surf shop across from Cocles beach and biked into town every day (about 7 min). Nadia and Antonio the owners are very nice and they called numerous taxi's and Tuk Tuk's for us whenever we needed one. Nadia recommended Pizzeria Dallili down the street and it was delicious. Nadia and Antonio even helped us get a very early morning ride to the Limon airport on the day we left. The two bedrooms were large and have AC if you need it. The shower had plenty of hot water which was so nice as we have stayed at other places in Puerto Viejo that did not have any or very little. There is also a little neighborhood cat named Susie (see pic) that hung out and welcomed us everyday on the patio everyday. Great coffee shop called Caribeans with daily yoga right around the corner. Overall, a great experience.

At La Perla del Caribe you’ll get a separate, completely private 2 bedrooms Italian built house; kitchen, covered patio, even garage door to completely close the property! You wake up in the morning by the sounds of birds and animals; it feels like you’re in the middle of the jungle! What a wonderful way to relax and disconnect from the crazy busy life we’re living! We saw exotic birds & sloths. The Italian owners, Antonio & Nadia are absolutely delightful! They offer you privacy but always available to tell you where to go, what to see. When we came back late from dinner on the first night we found bananas (from the garden), pack of coffee & milk for the morning! So thoughtful! Nadia also provided us with blankets and towels for the beach. They speak Italian, Spanish and English. The rooms are clean, air conditioning great, fully equipped kitchen, Internet connection. The accommodation is about 10 min walk to the beach. Very sad for not being able to stay for few weeks! You might be discouraged at first by the lack of lights at night on the road connecting to the property but you’ll get used with it... everywhere is safe and laid back feel. Don’t expect a TV! ( you shouldn’t come here if you’re obsessed with watching TV)

We stayed for 2 nights in one of the italian houses. The house has a nice bed, very clean bathroom and very clean kitchen. It was always cool inside even when the airco wasn't turned on. This is a great advantage because of the hot temperatures, especially at the carribean cost of Costa Rica. And last but no least, the hostes was very lovely and friendly to us.
