Pros: Location is great, 100m from bus & centre of town Pool is great on a hot day We had the whole place to ourselves Jean-Baptiste is friendly & helpful Nice little lounge area with movie channels for rainy days Cons: The quad rooms need at least a few hooks for towels etc. No shelves, no towel rails, no cabinets, nowhere except the floor to put your belongings. The kitchen needs an update, very few pieces of crockery, a few glasses & mugs & the stove burners are rusted out & dangerous. Washing should be by weight, $6 for 14kg or $6 for 1kg?? The shared bathroom needs a really good clean & update. Bin needs to have a lid & be emptied daily when you’re not allowed to flush the toilet paper.
The other recent reviews paint an accurate picture in my opinion. Here is my take: + super friendly host + pool + kitchen + location very near the bus station + airco - does not look like the above TripAdvisor pictures anymore - no hot water in the shower All in all, found it fair value for money and would definitely recommend.
We spent here 2 nights after we have read the fantastic recommendations on booking. Meanwhile the owner/renter has changed – and obviously the quality as well. For me is Cabinas Cahuita just average, nothing special or very good. It's right now time for a renovation, and the cleanliness could be better. The new french renter is a friendly person, unlikely his staff isn’t that great. Seems, that they are her just for vacations, not for work. Additionally they don’t speak english, just french. Another remark: Considering the former comments, there is no more daily room cleaning. All in all: basic. Compared with other accommodations in Cahuita obviously fair for money (we paid 30 USD/night for a twin bed room with aircon and TV). The hostel provides a kitchen which is equipped with the essential things for cooking. Unfortunately no clean towels, no coffee, no drinking water ..... My rating + friendly owner + nice small pool + located 300 m next to Cahuita National Park o cleanliness -- wifi (very slow, partially not working – due to rain ??)…
Located right near the bus stop, and only a 2 minute walk to the restaurants, bars, and National Park. Chris, who recently bought the hotel, and his daughter were very friendly and accommodating. They gave great recommendations, and really care about you as if you are part of the family. Everything is clean, they have a nice little pool to cool off in, and a small but functional communal kitchen. All rooms have private bathrooms, and most have air conditioning. Our room had only fans, buy as we are travelling on a tight budget, we didn't mind paying less and going without the luxury of air conditioning.
The room was very comfortable and clean. Our room had air conditioning and it worked well. The shared kitchen was very nice. The location is fantastic being right downtown and an easy walk to the national park. The staff were so friendly and responsive.
