The walls of the Inn harbor a secluded oasis. There is parking for about 6-7 autos. The grounds are filled with mature trees and vegetation. Yes, there are sloths, as well as hummingbirds, lizards, numerous songbirds, and multi-colored frogs. The Howler monkeys (not on site), made themselves known every morning. There are two salt water swimming pools; one was just reopening the day we ended our 10 day stay. A few fountains offered the relaxing sound of moving water. The staff was friendly and professional. Breakfast was included (coffee, tea, juice, fresh fruit, bread, jam, and variously, omelets, crepes, fried or scrambled eggs, or pancakes). The frog fountain off the restaurant area held a good-sized slider turtle (whom you could tempt to make an appearance with a bit of banana, papaya, or watermelon), and one of the biggest plecostomus I've ever seen. Our room (#9) was clean and comfortable. The Inn is ideally situated, as short walks take you to the several beaches, and the village of Cahuita. A bike rental really lets you get around with ease and take in all the local beaches, particularly the usually empty Playa Grande, the more visited Playa Negro, and the great white sand beaches of the National Park. This is a great spot.…
The moment you step though the wooden gate from the street into this hidden little property you immediately feel like you've entered a tropical paradise. Everything about this place was great; the property, the room, pool(s), food, staff, service....not a single complaint. Anne and Eden took very good care of us during our entire stay, they're both super friendly and extremely accommodating. We stayed in Bungalow #10 which is very spacious, comfortable and located at the back of the property just steps away from two refreshing pools. The location is amazing, just a short walk to Cahuita National Park as well as some great local restaurants and shopping. El Encanto Inn is definitely the perfect place to stay when visiting Cahuita.
We spent 3 nights here this month and loved every second. We were in bungalow 10 and this was bright and decorated beautifully, looking out onto the little jungle garden. The garden was full of amazing flora and fauna, with stunning birds, frogs, lizards and flowers and of course the Inns own parrot Dollar who flies to the top of trees and then cackles like a crazy person, very funny. The room was so comfortable and clean, we loved it. Great location for walking to the gorgeous Playa Blanca and forest, the town and then the other way to the Tree of Life animal sanctuary. I would highly recommend this place and the little town of Cahuita.
This is a very well kept and awesome place with a friendly and professional staff! Located a little bit from Cahuita Center (5 min walk). The garden is beautiful and the two pools are refreshing and clean. Several different places to relax around the garden. Really nice, clean and fresh room with a private veranda. Really good, although quite sweet, breakfast. Fresh fruit, fresh juice, toasted bread with two sorts of jam and pancakes! A 24 hr bar (pick your self) and complimentary coffee. What else do you need?
I don’t know about other hotels in Cahuita but this must be among the top two! We initially booked for 2 nights and text to say we would be late. A quick response from them asked if I meant the following night. I’d booked the wrong two nights. Their next response said no worries they’d got a room for tonight so we could stay. After a long dark quite scary journey we arrived. Opening a dark brown gate in a high wooden wall we entered the most wonderful garden. Lodges/bungalows/bedrooms huddled behind lush Costa Rican trees and shrubs. The welcome was warm and. efficient with just the right amount of information for our tired brains. We loved the honesty bar, free tea and coffee, the availability of cake, the two pools, the happy hour cocktails, the lazy parrot, the birds, even two tiny green and black frogs. My least favourite animal. We loved it so much that after checking out Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo where we’d intended to move on to, we asked if we could stay three more nights. They checked. We crossed our fingers. They said yes. We stayed in two of their 10? rooms and both were excellent. I could go on and on about this little bit of paradise. It’s not flash and glitzy it’s an honest beautiful place. Thanks to Eden and Anne for their warmth and efficiency behind the desk and at breakfast. Lovely people. …
