My boyfriend and I stayed at Villa Nautilus for a total of 9 nights for a surf trip, and could not have asked for a better experience. We used this as our home base, which gave us the opportunity to explore the various surrounding beaches and attractions outside of Tamarindo by car. Agélie and her husband could not have been more welcoming since day one. They provided us with a map of Tamarindo, and included recommendations on the best restaurants loved by locals. They recommended a variety of attractions, tours led by their local guides, and of course the best surf spots. Agélie's homemade breakfast varied every day, always including fresh fruit, coffee, juice, homemade jams and bread, and the breakfast special of the day. I wish we had been able to enjoy more of her delicious cooking! Our room included a kitchenette which was perfect for the length of our stay. The room was clean, with daily housekeeping. The location is ideal if you want to be walking distance to the busier centre of Tamarindo, but stay in a quieter more peaceful area. We would come back to stay at Villa Nautilus in a heartbeat!…
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. On check in we were given a map of the area with lots of advice and recommendations for things to do, places to eat etc. Location is great, close enough to the beach but far enough away from downtown night life to get a good sleep. The breakfast was delicious and filling. Would definitely stay here again.
Having orginally booked to stay for 3 nights and extended to 5, the experience staying in Villa Nautilus was fantastic. We were in the king room with a private balcony where we got an amazing Breakfast every morning. Always great coffee and fresh fruit - and whatever the special is that day. It is also often served with Agelie’s homemade jam - the coconut and pineapple was my favourite. All these homemade touches make such a difference! Agelie and her husband are absolutely lovely and we’re extremely helpful and knowledgeable about things to do in the area. They recommended tours such as surfing, turtle spotting and also some great restaurants. They booked the tours for us too so it was very hassle free! Overall the place was clean, amazing decor and so relaxing. We had a fridge in our room so brought our own beers/drinks to the pool too. I couldn’t recommend enough, thank you both for a fabulous stay!!…
We stayed for one night at Villa Nautilus, a great choice. The hotel is placed in a quiet part of Tamarindo and had mangos hanging outside the seating area. The rooms were nice and personal. The pool area and the sitting groups next to it were cosy and homely. The breakfast was good and the owner was very helpful and friendly. She really tried to make our stay memorable and good in every way.
My husband and I really enjoyed our week long honeymoon at Villa Nautilus. The villa was conveniently located near downtown Tamarindo, but also not right in the hub bub of town. We enjoyed the breakfast on our balcony every morning. The staff was very friendly, as well as the owners (Agelie and her husband), were so kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a quieter, quaint place to stay near downtown Tamarindo!
