The good: Staff is very helpful and friendly and the resto area was nice. The bad: The place itself isnt being maintained. Stayed in a private room w/bathroom. The common area is directly in front of these rooms and is lound until 2am. The room itself is big but beds are hard as a rock, pillows are so tiny and old, sheets smelled clean but had stains, tiny bugs crawled throughout beds (even when you remove them they keep coming back), locks on door were challenging to unlock/lock with key, constant leaking/dripping water, doors and walls had water damage and are dirty, and the fridge smelled foul and was dirty, and there is no microwave. This place has potential to be nice but needs more attention.

All the facilities were good. The bedroom was clean and spacious and it had a lock on the door aswell. Bathrooms and showers were good. Location is pretty much in the middle so it’s very easy to get around. It didn’t seem very sociable and we didn’t meet many people there. Also there didn’t seem to be a curfew and the walls were thin so we could hear people shout etc at 1am. The kitchen is small but it has everything you need.

My sister and I stayed here from dec 27- Jan 2. What a cute looking place and sweet atmosphere. The pool is such a highlight, the staff work hard to keep it clean and safe during covid. When I had to go to the doctors the staff went out of their way to be so helpful. I did find it a bit expensive but we had to pay for all the beds in room because it is Covid, so for safety and sanitary purposes it was understandable. So many dogs are there, wake up to monkeys in the trees, what a great place. From the moment we checked in to checkout, it was just real Pura Vida. Thank you for everything!

The staff were very kind and helpful during our stay! Big shoutout to Melina and Jennifer who were both especially friendly. The food and drinks at the hostel were also some of the best we had on our stay and also well priced. During our stay we visited a few of the other hostels to check them out, if I had to choose again it would be Oveja for sure
