A very nice hostel that im very glad i chose to stay at. I will start by saying, the only downsides i feel were the dorm room/ensuite were quite aged/dirty compared to the rest of the hostel, and its a bit 'far' from the beach . BUT- id say that actually has some bonuses to it, youre close to the supermarket and a number of the main popular bars so actually could be a bonus. Otherwise, all the staff were super friendly and helpful ( Fernando my man), the place was clean, well laid out, good for meeting other travellers. The yoga studio is just a nice touch and the private rooms were super comfortable and clean. had a very good time here, and sad to leave.

This is honestly terrible and disgusting hostel with no extraction. I don't normally post reviews like this but seeing as it is a health concern people need to understand, it is a Covid outbreak waiting to happen. No one in the common areas are required to wear masks. Everyone while not eating or swimming was without masks. INCLUDING THE STAFF THE ENTIRE TIME. Had my mask on the entire time. Didn't feel comfortable at all with this plus no sanitizer anywhere for the kitchen or to clean your hands. The kitchen is the most disgusting part of the place. The fridge is never cleaned and overcrowded with old food. The fridge looks and smells horrible. Almost vomited from the smell of opening it. Not joking at all. Pans are all falling a part...handels not attached. Only two bowls for the entire kitchen. Barely enough silverware. Do not come here and think you are going have a pleasant time doing cooking just eat out. Its super strange throughout the place alot of the electric is hanging out. Our room the electric socket wasn't even in the wall. Pool was filthy. This place needs an overhaul on staff and facilities. Book elsewhere or stay in your room if you dont want become infected with covid due to NO safety protocols. Which is a required by the government. Only thing nice is the AC and location.

Hello Rachel! Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I would´ve normally said "thank you for giving us the chance to improve". But, although we respect your point of view about our hostel, we would like to clarify some issues on which we disagree, or at least we don´t understand. On the first hand, regarding the broken electric socket that you not only commented on this review, but also uploaded a picture of it on our Google site (??), It´s funny, because we always suggest people to ask for some help to get things solved, but we find couple of times that some people prefer to keep the problem and later complain, what is a shame, because if you had only communicated the problem we would´ve been pleased to solved it for you inmediately, as we always do when we face any of our guests requests. It´s understandable that you are afraid of COVID, and we don´t judge it. Each person face it as they can. But what sounds incoherent is the fact that in spite of being so afraid of “becoming infected” you decided to stay at a HOSTEL, where as everyone knows, people share common spaces, which is the main difference between a hostel and any other lodging (hotels, private apartments, etc..). Kitchens are a very sensitive issue in every hostel, since it is shared among the guests where they are also responsible for keeping it tidy and clean. The refrigerators are also shared, people bring their own food to cook and share with others. Besides, it´s important to take into account that you made the reservation for the nights of Christmas time (Dec-25), where most of the people came to Tamarindo to have a small celebration after a very different year for the entire world, so we just tried to bring them our best energy! We hope you have a great 2021! We are already enjoying it with all the people that still come and visit us to have a good time in Tamarindo. Have a good life.
