Spent one month in Playa Grande at Manglar Hotel with a friend and it was just PERFECT. Away from the busy town Tamarindo, it is the perfect place to relax, enjoy the beach and all its activities (surfing, watching the turtles, monkeys and sunsets...) The hotel is very clean, has a great swimming pool and very friendly staff that will... More

If you want to go to Playa Grande this is just the best location!! The hotel has a private entrance to the beach only 2 min walking. The road to get to the hotel was the worst experience ever. I was so glad we had a 4x4 because otherwise we would not be able to get there! They have a... More

A clean, comfortable, air conditioned ground floor suite was the best cure for a depressing Canadian winter. Ariel and the staff made us old farts feel right at home, and always helped us with information on the local area and with booking tours and travel in the region. The climate in this region was fabulous with low humidity heat that... More

Muchas Gracias for a wonderful stay BOTH times I was here. Vacationed here for a week with some friends and then again for a few days with family. The location for both occasions was perfect. A mix of tranquility and quiet, but a close ferry ride to a town with more action. I have actually stayed in all three type... More

A bit off the beaten path, surfers will love the free board rental and quick walk to beach. Surf break deserted-the best. 20 minute walk and 1$ boat ride to town for restaurants & bars. Best of both worlds. "luxury" rooms have AC. Splurge, it's hot.

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Mangler earlier this month and had a wonderful time. The location is great, walking distance to a few great restaurants, a small grocery, and most importantly a beautiful secluded beach. The room was clean and spacious, as was the kitchen. Pool was lovely also. We planned a number of activities during the week,... More

I was just last week in Playa Grande and booked a Villa at Hotel El Manglar. I was happily surprised by the comfort of the villa. The villa is spacious and it has all the basic appliances (fridge, coffee maker, stove, toaster oven, microwave oven) in case you decide to cook there. The hotel and the rooms are very clean...
