We arrived a bit late in the evening, having wisely rented a Costa Rican GPS from our car rental agency - Rancho Armadillo is tucked away on a quiet lane. We were warmly greeted by Rick, the owner/manager, as soon as we arrived! Even before we left the States, we had incredible service personalized to our interests and time frame....

Small, close to town (although I'd recommend a car), laid-back to the nth power. Owner/operator is a very mellow and friendly guy- this is a good place to hang out at the pool and do a whole lot of nothing. If you're looking for lots of activity, crowds, and raucousness this is not the place you want to be, but...

This hotel is one of 89 Adventure Hotels in Costa Rica. It's my hidden gem. This was my second visit, my husband's first and it's as beautiful as when I was there three years ago with my girlfriend. You are completely on sensory overload; the quiet is overwhelming; the view is spectacular, the sunsets gorgeous, the flora is aromatic and...

I just returned from my 2nd stay at Rancho Armadillo, and it was just as fantastic as I remembered it. I started each day reading in one of the hammocks, looking at the ocean, and then enjoying Rick's delicious breakfast. The property is gorgeous, and lends itself so well to the ultimate relaxation. Rick is so incredibly knowledgable and helpful...

Our family of four spent our first and last three nights of our nine day trip at Rancho Armadillo Estate. As we pulled in, Rick the owner, greeted us and began showing us around his beautiful property. He was a wealth of information, both while we were there, and before we arrived via email. We would have been so lost...

Keen to escape the cold damp British weather we decided to escape to Costa Rica. After much searching on TripAdvisor we came across all the positive reviews for Rancho Armadillo and decided to give it a try. It certainly lived up to and exceeded our expectations and we spent two glorious weeks just relaxing at 'Rick's Place'. If you are...

We have wanted to travel to Costa Rica for awhile, and found the Rancho Armadillo through Tripadvisor. I can't say enough good about it! It truly was paradise. The themed rooms were clean, beautiful, and very comfortable. The tropical rain shower was perfect. Breakfasts are huge and well prepared with local fruit and juices. We found ourselves spending time around...

This place Rancho Armadillo was a home away from home on our vacation. Rick was very helpful and we could not have had a better vacation without staying here. He gave us such good advice to maximize our vacation. Thank you Rick for taking good care of us! We have very good memories of this vacation. Please save our hammock...

Just got back from a 6 night stay at Rancho Armadillo and loved every minute of it! From the location, to the host Rick Vogel, everything about this place is top notch! Rick's property is set off from the main strip of Coco and provides some incredible views. The rooms are very nice, and if you need help with anything...

As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe and very lucky to have stumbled upon Rancho Armadillo and all its inhabitants, most namely Rick. Annual I take a trip to someplace far and away, taking into account my safety but not wanting to give up any fun and adventure. I felt very at home at Rancho Armadillo. It's a...
