This quaint hotel is in a great location in Liberia, with a pretty courtyard and genuine friendly staff. We were not looking for anything upscale, and wanted to experience true Costa Rica. We knew there was no air con when we booked, so we were not surprised with the basic but comfortable room. Very pleasant stay!

I was totally happy there. It was the week before Easter so the town was very quiet so no noise. The staff was great. Place was clean. The hot water wasn't needed as it was so hot there. Ceiling fans were fine for me as that is all I have at home where it is hot also. Has secure parking.

Hotel Liberia was very nice, in the center of the city. The hotel staff was very friendly. Wi-Fi worked great, it was clean and and overall good place to stay. The only negative points that i have are... There is no AC, they have two fans in the room, but if you need your room cold to sleep this might...

We stayed here for a quick over night stay before continuing onto monteverde. It was exactly what we needed. Adorable courtyard area with very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend for backpackers flying into Liberia for the night. But as a forewarning there isn't hot water or AC. But you're in Costa Rica so what else do you need!

Stayed here twice, once on the way in to Costa Rica and once on the way out. The first time, we had a room with high ceilings and were very comfortable. The second time, however, we were in the back building and the heat was intolerable. There was no ventilation whatsoever. We didn't sleep at all. They simply need to...

We we're heading to Santa Teresa from Popoyo in Nicaragua and wanted to break up the journey. The dorm room at Hotel Liberia was a perfect option. There were just three individual single beds in the dorm, all with towel and soap. The room had a quiet ceiling fan and the clean bathroom was right next door. Wifi was decent...

We stayed for just one night, it is a colonial style building, with an internal courtyard. The room itself was spacious, with a ceiling fan, pretty basic but well worth the money we paid. We ate there and the food was great and the service probably the best we experienced in Costa Rica. Someone put it is like a little...

Lovely courtyard, friendly staff. The casona room was small, but charming even though it is right off the restaurant. However, it was stiflingly hot with poor ventilation. The ceiling fan just didn't cut it. Now, I am not usually someone who needs A/C (in fact, the three other places we stayed in while visiting Costa Rica did not have A/C,...

The best breakfasts we had in Costa Rica, great location close to all sights. Annexe rooms were small and the fan ineffectual so it was very hot and humid. Although clean the en suite was minute. Make sure you get a room in the main building. friendly helpful staff.

We stayed at this hotel after our arrival at Liberia airport. The property is ideal for arrivals/departures and its basic and clean. Breakfast was good and not to expensive and also the staff is friendly and helpful. They assisted us with the taxi transfer to Tamarindo and helped us to find a good deal.
