A mid-range (3-4 star?) resort which achieves what it sets out to do well. Lots of character with fabulous views of the Arenas volcano from every bedroom. Rooms are comfortable with interesting furniture and fittings. Everything works – unusual in CR! Rooms are set in well stocked natural gardens with birds almost within reach from patio or balcony. Restaurant service...

this was a very special little place with tons of local character. great staff. great excursions. We took our kids and it was one of our best vacations. rooms were very nice, clean and a tropical theme. views of volcano were incredible even with some cloud cover. Highly recommend if Arenal is on your wish list.

The room was lovely with great views, heater, balcony, spa bath, huge comfortable bed. Don't be put off by the steep walks from estaurant and reception - they are very manageable. Good shuttle to Hanging Bridges which can be visited as many times as you like once you have bought a ticket. Breakfast is good, Hotel is alittle remote and...

When you drive in to this resort its pitch dark and you cant even tell that there is a resort in front of you. Its all low light so you feel like your in the middle of the jungle.....and you are! The views are fabulous of the volcano. The sounds in the jungle are great, the staff COULD NOT have...

Stayed here for three nights. Read about it in Fodors and it is as interesting as the say. Quite a bit outside of town but adjacent to Mistico Hanging Bridges. Layout scatters buildings through the forest and each have interesting views or at least did when it stopped raining. Steep grades would make it difficult for those with mobility issues...

We had a wonderful stay at the Lost Iguana. It was our first stop on a two-week visit to Costa Rica and a great introduction to the country. The resort is beautiful and luxurious, in a peaceful, natural setting. Lots of wildlife and the hummingbirds at breakfast can keep you entertained for hours. It's a little removed from the town...

Staying at the lost Iguana was a wonderful experience. It is a beautiful hotel, with luxurious pool and hot tub, delicious breakfast, but the best part is the staff. They were very attentive and went out of there way to make us comfortable. For example, during one night of our trip we were stuck inside due to rain and they...

I absolutely love The Lost Iguana Resort! It is jungle luxury at its finest.
