Lovely hotel in a superb location on the lower slopes of the active Turrialba volcano. Beautiful views of the valley below and the (currently) often smoking volcano above. Set in immaculate flower filled tropical gardens which attract lots of birds. The interior is Swiss lodge style, with pretty rooms and various comfortable sitting areas which give it a relaxed feel....

This place is very quaint, almost seems like a place in the Alps. Everything seems to be done well, except there is no heat in the rooms and it is cold at this altitude, especially after dark. The breakfast is very good as is dinner. The owner, Pedro, could not be nicer. All of the staff are very friendly and...

We enjoyed our stay quite a bit. The hosts are very nice and hospitable. Even though there was a lot of rain, the birds at the feeders were wonderful. Hotel is at a nice mid-elevation for birding. Rosana, the host, mapped a very successful birding route for us that led to seeing many target birds. Lunch at Mirador Sitio Angostora...

As others have said, it does have an adventurous driveway. It is cute and quaint decorated with interesting art pieces. There are no elevators so if this is an issue, request the first or second floor (we were on the third). The staff is all very nice and helpful. The food was delicious. The grounds are very nice with beautiful...

Rustic hotel and rooms--maybe more authentic than modern standard rooms. Nice grounds with beautiful vegetation. Great view of Turrialba Volcano. Clean and comfortable beds. There is a short drive to get to the hotel that is not paved and in not very good conditions. Staff was attentive and helpful.

This property is magnificent, with incredible views over the valley in which the town of Turrialba sits. The food in the restraint is fresh and delicious and they have a lot of healthy options. My husband particularly appreciated that they seems to always have a vegetarian option in addition to the meat ones. Breakfast was equally amazing. The staff and...

A wonderful 2 night stay. Hotel in perfect setting, warm, cosy, friendly. Delicious food, we especially enjoyed the breakfasts with warm bread and cinnamon rolls straight out of the oven. A really special place.

We stayed here one night before heading to the international airport. Our room was spacious and well appointed. Shower forceful and water hot. The downside was the climate inside. There were no screens, no air conditioning and no heat and it was raining. Once we closed the windows to keep bugs out it became stuffy. Adding a fan would be...

It's my second time on this lodge and I still amazed with the breathtaking views of the Turrialba Volcano and Valley. The lodge is managed by the owners so the service is nice and quick and they make you feel like you're a part of their family, also they serve very tasty food options and there is a good variety...
