We had an excellent experience staying at the Casa Luna Hotel and Spa. It was a beautiful property and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed hanging out by the pool, which was a really nice size and well decorated. Melvin at...More
Was here with a Groupon tour deal for our honeymoon and was pleasantly surprised with the amenities, staff, and view of this hotel. Their effort to incorporate Costa Rica's natural beauty really shows through with the premise feeling like a huge botanical garden -- also...More
I stayed at Casa Luna as part of a group tour and enjoyed a delightful two days. The rooms were clean, surrounded by beautiful gardens with the Arenal Volcano as a back drop, often shrouded in cloud. I used the restaurant for breakfast on both...More

Hotel staff were excellent. We had a problem with a trip they called the tour company for us and sorted it out, no problem.

The first part of the road from Casa Luna Hotel, La Fortuna, Costa Rica to Montverde, Costa Rica is in fairly good condition up to the city called Tilaran which is about halfway in terms of time between Fortuna and Montverde. After Tilaran the road is drivable but very rocky and bad and one could only drive about 25-30 miles per hour. If you are renting a car, get an SUV with a high clearance. There are signs that if followed would take you to Montverde. But one has to pay close attention to these signs because it's not exactly like the markings in the United States. Again like I said earlier, it's drivable but very bad. I am going back again in April of this year. I enjoyed it so much last year and I am sure you will too.
