Me and my husband stayed here for 5 nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Rosa helped us book our ATV and zip line activities, and she recommended some places for us to have dinner in town. Daniela is very sweet and always had a smile on her face when we went to the dining area for breakfast. The food at Tifakara is DELICIOUS. The chef is super friendly and you can tell he takes a lot of pride in his work. Me and my husband loved the breakfast and dinner options. Our room was clean, beautiful, and had air conditioning. The outdoor shower is super cool and you can hear the little birds singing as you get ready for the day. This hotel is only a 10 minute walk from La Fortuna Waterfall and about a 20 minute drive from other activities like hot springs. Overall I really loved this hotel and hope to be back soon!…
Such a great small hotel in La Fortuna. Each “room” is its own mini bungalow surrounded in nature— complete with a mini balcony and an outdoor shower. We loved waking up to the sounds of all the birds and nature each morning. The staff was also so friendly and accommodating, shout out to Rosa! She helped us book all our adventures and provided the best recommendations based on our preferences. The hotel is a little bit further up into the mountains compared to the strip of La Fortuna but the secluded location is actually really nice and only a quick 5 minute drive into the main town. It’s also a 10 minute walk from the La Fortuna waterfall so very convenient to get there quickly in the morning before other tourists arrive.
My wife and I loved our time at this hotel. I highly recommend getting one of the bungalows. The room was very clean and was air conditioned. The pool area has two hot tubs and the entire resort is really nice for viewing outdoor wildlife including frogs and birds. We saw toucan birds outside our room twice. The on-site restaurant has okay food, not great but still a convenient feature if you don't feel like leaving the property. Service was always very responsive and solved any problems we may have had. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It's located further outside of La Fortuna away from most of the other resorts and hotels but I think it makes for a nice quiet Oasis.
We loved loved loved our stay at Tifakara. It is truly an oasis. The grounds are just spectacular. Saw tons of cool birds. The room is terrific. Love the outdoor shower. The breakfasts are very good. The coffee and iced tea and cookies all day long is quite nice as well. The free frog hunt at night was really well done and fun...saw lots of cool frogs. The pool is also quite beautiful. Both Rosa and Daniella couldn't have been nicer, and more helpful. Great recommendations for restaurants, tours, etc. Our first night we ate dinner at the hotel, and that was not great. A little pricey and just not great. But overall, a wonderful stay at a very reasonable price. Would recommend to anyone.
Great boutique hotel. I stayed for 4 days 3 nights and it was so nice. It's nestled in the rainforest so you hear nature throughout your stay. The waterfall is literally right down the street. I think it took about 8 minutes to walk there. The breakfast is included which you have an option of the classic Costa Rican breakfast which is yummy and filling. The staff is amazing and accommodating. They helped me get food from the Arenal area (I think that was the area) and arrange tours. Unfortunately I didn't get to experience the on-site full frog tour but caught a glimpse towards one at the end. Seemed cool. I definitely recommend staying here. Don't forget the semi-outdoor showers in the bungalows. AMAZING!
